    057. Partner Loss, Mediumship, Signs & Symbols, and Reiki & Energy Healing with Alyse Dusseault

We’re chatting with Alyse Dusseault, a Widow, Grief Coach, Psychic Medium, and Reiki and energy work Practitioner based in Nashville, TN.

After the loss of her fiancé Jared in June 2020, she began connecting with him in spirit and this opened her up to her intuitive gifts, which allowed her to create a new language with him in spirit.

Alyse opened her business, Intuitively Alyse, in January 2022 where she helps others in their healing journey through Reiki, mediumship, intuitive readings, and grief coaching.

She is also the host of the Grief Awakening Podcast, which I’ve also had the pleasure of being a guest on in 2023 (linked below!).

Alyse and I have a SUPER powerful and beautiful conversation about the loss of a partner, her mediumship journey, signs and symbols and how we can connect with our loved ones, and energetic and Reiki healing.

I have personally witnessed her gift through a mini intuitive reading I did with Alyse, and it truly is so amazing to witness! This is such a unique conversation we haven’t had on the podcast yet, and I’m so excited to hare it with you guys.

    055. Mother Loss and Healing Through Creative Outlets with Gaby Georges

    055. Mother Loss and Healing Through Creative Outlets with Gaby Georges

Today on the Life With Grief Podcast we’re chatting with Gaby Georges. She is a Creative Grief Guide and the Founder of The Grief Cocoon.

Gaby is a multi-disciplinary artist, and the guidance and work that she provides in the grief space is inspired by her beloved mother, Samira, who she lost at the age of 20 to a rare form of cancer.

She supports grievers to creatively process, befriend, and transform their grief through creative writing, movement, rituals, and community connection. Through The Grief Cocoon, Gaby offers creative online workshops, a podcast, educational online content, a mobile community app, and one-on-one support.

She is truly such a beautiful human with this amazing calming energy that I know you’re going to feel just by hearing her voice! We’re talking all about the power of creativity in processing and transforming our grief, the importance of community and connecting with others when we’re grieving, and embracing grief rather than avoiding it. And, of course, talking about how to even go about doing this.

I have no doubt you will learn so much as I did!

    054. 7 Reasons Why Alone Time is Important for Healing

    054. 7 Reasons Why Alone Time is Important for Healing

Today I wanted to have a quick conversation about why alone time is important in our grieving journey, and in our healing journey. We’re going to talk about seven reasons I feel this way, both as a Grief and Transformational Life Coach and a fellow griever.

I know we can sometimes want to be surrounded by people as we’re grieving, and I always encourage that! Having a solid support system is critical.

But the thing is, the practice of embracing alone time can lead to self-reflection, introspection, and thinking about where our life was, where it is, and where we see it going. We can’t always do that if we’re inundated with other people, right?

All I want you to do today—no matter where you fall on this spectrum of wanting people around you—is to hear me out on this topic. I think there is so much peace to be found when we have that time alone, and here we’ll talk about why!

    053. Navigating the Lifelong Journey of Grief with Michele DeVille

    053. Navigating the Lifelong Journey of Grief with Michele DeVille

I am incredibly honored to share today’s guest with you guys. I’ve been a fan of hers for a LONG time now, y’all! I connected with her through Instagram, back when I first started following her early in the days of Losses Become Gains. I absolutely fell in love with her content and her beautiful writing, and now I have the privilege of sharing her with YOU today!

I have no doubt you are going to love her as well. Today, we are chatting with Michelle DeVille. She is a grief specialist, educator, coach, end of life doula (we get into what this is in this episode!), speaker, and writer.

Here, she shares her profound story with us—and let me tell you, she has suffered a lot of loss of different kinds.

But really, her message is so beautiful. Like most of us, she knows how paralyzing grief and loss can be. It’s because of her own painful life experiences that she is dedicated to helping others, just like you, who are struggling and facing some of their most difficult season ever.

She and I share the belief that we can’t escape loss and grief, but we CAN choose how we live and love every single day. It all comes down to how we navigate it, how we cope, and how we can shift our perspective. This is such an empowering conversation. Get excited, my friends!

    052. How to Cope with Insensitive Comments in Grief

    052. How to Cope with Insensitive Comments in Grief

As if grief isn’t difficult enough, insensitive, ignorant, and unnecessary comments are, sadly, a common occurrence for so many of us. These kinds of remarks will likely come our way at some point as we’re grieving.

    Things like…
    - You should be doing [fill in the blank].
    - You need to let it go.
    - People speaking on behalf of our loved one who has died, like putting words in their mouth about what they would be thinking, feeling, or saying.
    - Why are you dwelling on it?
    - You should get over it by now.
    - You should be moved on… why aren’t you moved on?
    - Do you think it’s healthy to think or talk about it this much?

    And SO many more!

So, I wanted to cover this topic because there are so many complexities to it. And the thing is, comments like this can really hurt, right?! They can even set us back in our grieving and healing journey.

I want us to have a very open, honest, and raw conversation about it. And, of course, equip you with some tools and guidance on how to cope with this—and how to manage these comments—if this comes up as you’re trying to navigate your grief, life after loss, and everything in between.
