Velvele’s new podcast Queer Diaspora Talks with the support of Manchester Metropolitan University, MMU Contemporary Intimacies, Sexualities & Genders Research Group, and UK Research and Innovation, talks with LGBTQ+ activists & artists from Turkey who continue their struggles in other countries.
In the very first episode, Fulden (Istanbul) and Yener Bayramoğlu (London) have a conversation with Ceylan and Galina from the UK-based organization Mesopotamian and Anatolian Queers for Azadî (MAQFA UK).
MAQFA members, who work to make the LGBTQ+ struggle visible in Britain, also talked about the impact of the country's colonial history on immigrants and their relationship with LGBTQ+ activism in Turkey.
