Have young guns Logan Cooley, Dylan Guenther, Jack McBain and Matias Maccelli taken a step forward? Is coach André Tourigny still the man to lead this team? Utah opens 4-game trip vs. David Pastrňák’s Boston Bruins and Sidney Crosby’s Pittsburgh Penguins

The Utah Hockey Club may not own the Arizona Coyotes’ history, but the players, coaches and managers were all there for it and remember how much the team struggled at Boston’s TD Garden and Pittsburgh’s PPG Paints Arena. Those are the sites of the UHC’s first two games on a rough road trip vs. David Pastrňák’s Boston Bruins and Sidney Crosby’s Pittsburgh Penguins. The Coyotes were a combined 4-27-1 in those buildings. The trip looks all the tougher after Utah finished a three-game homestand with two losses in which it allowed a combined 10 goals to Jack Eichel’s Vegas Golden Knights and Alex Ovechkin’s Washington Capitals. The power play struggled, goaltender Connor Ingram struggled, defenseman Maveric Lamoureux struggled and the defensive zone play was a mess. Petey, Craig and Belle Fraser looked at those elements before playing a bit of Terrier Trivia with Fraser, a Boston University alumna. ALL Utah Hockey Podcast: How the Utah Hockey Club won against Carolina Hurricanes + Alex Ovechkin's first Utah appearance

We recap Utah’s wild 4-1 victory over one of the hottest teams in the NHL, the Carolina Hurricanes. Karel Vejmelka made a career-high 49 saves and the UHC (7-6-3) killed off 11 minutes worth of penalties in the third period without allowing a Hurricanes power-play goal. Nick Bjugstad had a pair of goals, his first since returning to the lineup eight games ago. Alex Ovechkin will make his first-ever appearance in Salt Lake City when the Utah Hockey Club hosts the Washington Capitals at Delta Center on Monday. The 39-year-old Russian forward is chasing Wayne Gretzky's all-time goal-scoring record and is on pace to eclipse it this season. Petey and Craig spoke to longtime Capitals insider Tarik (TAH-rick) El-Bashir from Monumental Sports about Ovi’s pursuit and the keys to his resurgence.
