FOCUS: Uncovering the truth of the Holocaust in Alderney
A landmark report has attempted to uncover the truth of what happened in Alderney during the Nazi occupation.
Crucially, it has put a number to the true total of people who died as a result of the atrocities in the camps in the island after decades of downplaying and exaggeration of the final figures.
There’s also evidence of why the British never prosecuted the perpetrators, which involves cover-up and Cold War concerns.
In this FOCUS podcast you’ll hear from the academics who compiled the report, the history, and the political reaction including how the island plans to move forward to memorialise the horrors from history.

In this episode of Bailiwick Podcasts, Jodie Yettram spoke with mental health consultant Jennifer Neill about her new business that aims to support wellbeing in the workplace.
The conversation took place during Mental Health Awareness Week and focused on the impact of mental health on both employees and businesses — including high turnover and reduced productivity.
Jennifer spoke about the importance of employers recognising and supporting their employees' mental health needs, the impact of cost of living on mental health, and the unique challenges faced by younger workers starting their careers in a remote environment.
She called for organisations to implement proactive strategies and flexible approaches to address these issues and create a supportive work culture from the top-down.
