Ellen Greenberg’s Family Secures Reopened Investigation as Forensic Expert Suggests Staged Crime Scene

The long-debated case of Ellen Greenberg is gaining renewed attention after a forensic expert hired by her family suggested that her 2011 death was staged to appear as a suicide. Dr. Wayne Ross, a forensic neuropathologist, told NewsNation’s Brian Entin that he believes Greenberg was strangled before being stabbed 20 times. “To a reasonable degree of medical certainty, she was strangled,” Ross said. “Yeah, I would testify in the court of law.” Greenberg, a 27-year-old teacher, was found dead in her Philadelphia apartment by her fiancé, Sam Goldberg. She had suffered 20 stab wounds, including 10 to the back of her neck. Initially, Philadelphia Medical Examiner Marlon Osbourne ruled her death a homicide, but that determination was later changed to suicide after police questioned the findings. The family has long fought against the suicide ruling, believing crucial evidence was overlooked. One of the most concerning pieces of evidence, Ross pointed out, is a towel placed near Greenberg’s body that was clean despite the excessive amount of blood at the scene. He sees this as clear evidence that the scene may have been manipulated. “There are also bruises on her wrists and legs that suggest a struggle, as well as conflicting blood splatter patterns,” Ross noted. The case has drawn national scrutiny, with experts and the public questioning how a person could inflict such severe wounds on themselves. Recently, Osbourne, the medical examiner who first ruled Greenberg’s death a homicide, released a legal verification stating that he now believes the suicide ruling is inaccurate. In a significant development, Greenberg’s family reached a settlement agreement with Philadelphia officials to reopen the investigation. The new inquiry offers a glimmer of hope for her parents, who have spent over a decade fighting for justice. Her father, Josh Greenberg, has been vocal about his suspicions, stating that he believes his daughter was strangled before being stabbed. The case has also placed scrutiny on Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, who was Philadelphia’s district attorney at the time of Greenberg’s death. Addressing the case, Shapiro defended the initial investigation. With the case now reopened, forensic experts and investigators will have another opportunity to analyze the troubling evidence surrounding Greenberg’s death. Ross believes a deeper examination will reveal inconsistencies that support the family’s claim that she did not die by suicide. As the investigation moves forward, Greenberg’s family remains committed to uncovering the truth about what happened that night in her apartment. #EllenGreenberg #TrueCrime #JusticeForEllen #ColdCase #ForensicInvestigation #CrimeNews #LegalBattle Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Former Stoughton Officer Faces Court Hearing in Murder Case of Pregnant Woman Sandra Birchmore

A former Stoughton, Massachusetts, police detective charged with murdering a pregnant woman appeared in a brief court hearing on Monday as both sides continued reviewing evidence. Matthew Farwell, 38, was indicted in August 2024 for the death of 23-year-old Sandra Birchmore, who was found dead in her Canton apartment on February 4, 2021. Birchmore, who was three months pregnant, was allegedly killed to prevent authorities from uncovering Farwell’s long-term sexual exploitation of her. Prosecutors say Farwell first met Birchmore when she was a child in the Stoughton Police Department’s Youth Explorers Program. By the time she was 15 and he was a 27-year-old officer, authorities allege he had begun an inappropriate sexual relationship with her that continued into adulthood. According to investigators, Birchmore told Farwell in December 2020 that he was the father of her unborn child, at which point he became aggressive. Court documents allege that he put her in a headlock and told her he wished she were dead. Monday’s hearing focused on the ongoing discovery process. Farwell was not required to appear in court. Outside the courthouse, Birchmore’s supporters gathered in protest and spoke to the media. “It’s been a long time coming, and I hope that Sandra finally gets justice—hopefully this year,” said Birchmore’s cousin, Barbara Wright. “I define justice as seeing Matthew go behind bars for the rest of his life.” Prosecutors argue that Farwell staged Birchmore’s death to look like a suicide. The indictment claims he acted to prevent authorities from uncovering his criminal behavior, which allegedly included engaging in sex acts with Birchmore while on duty. Farwell has pleaded not guilty. An internal affairs investigation revealed that Birchmore first encountered Farwell at age 13 through the Stoughton Explorers Program. Investigators say he used his position as a police officer to groom, exploit, and abuse her, continuing the relationship into her adulthood. While on duty, Farwell allegedly falsified records to claim he was working when he was actually with Birchmore. In late January 2021—just a week before Birchmore’s death—a friend of hers contacted the Stoughton Police Department and mentioned Farwell’s sexual involvement with her. When Farwell learned of the inquiry, investigators say he sent Birchmore angry messages and visited her apartment, requesting a spare key and urging her to keep it secret. Federal authorities allege that, in the days leading up to her death, Farwell searched Birchmore’s home, including her closets and bathroom, before ultimately killing her. Her death was initially ruled a suicide, but federal investigators later uncovered new evidence that led to Farwell’s indictment. Stoughton Police Chief Donna McNamara has strongly condemned Farwell’s alleged actions, calling them “the single worst act of not just professional misconduct but indeed human indecency that I have observed in a nearly three-decade career in law enforcement.” “As I have stated previously, Sandra Birchmore received no justice during her life. It is imperative that justice be served in her death, and today’s actions appear to bring our society one step closer to justice,” McNamara said in a statement. Doubt Cast on Lucy Letby Convictions as Experts Challenge Insulin Poisoning Claims

A major new study challenges key evidence used to convict Lucy Letby, the former nurse serving 15 whole-life sentences for the murder and attempted murder of infants at the Countess of Chester Hospital. The report, authored by international experts, states that there is "no scientific justification whatsoever" for the claim that Letby deliberately poisoned babies with insulin and highlights a "very strong level of reasonable doubt" about her convictions. Professor Geoff Chase, a world-leading expert on insulin’s effects on pre-term babies, said it was "very unlikely" that lethal doses were administered, contradicting the prosecution’s case. The trial hinged on blood test results showing low blood sugar, high insulin, and low C-peptide levels. However, a detailed review of the babies’ medical records by experts in neonatology and bioengineering found that the data was "inconsistent" with insulin poisoning. The Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) is now formally reviewing the case after a panel of 14 experts found no evidence of murder or deliberate harm. Senior Conservative MP (member of parliament) Sir David Davis has called the case "one of the major injustices of modern times." During Letby’s trial, prosecutor Nick Johnson KC (kings court) told jurors the nurse "undoubtedly" poisoned two infants eight months apart by adding synthetic insulin to their feeding bags. However, the 100-page study, authored by Chase and chemical engineering expert Helen Shannon, points out that low blood sugar is "not uncommon" in premature infants. The babies also lacked symptoms typically associated with insulin poisoning, such as seizures or heart arrhythmia. The report, citing over 250 peer-reviewed papers, criticizes the reliability of the immunoassay test used to detect insulin. Shannon stated, "There is no scientific justification whatsoever for the prosecution’s claim that there was 'no doubt that these were poisonings.'" She argued that a more forensic test should have been used. The insulin charges were crucial to Letby’s conviction, as they were considered the strongest evidence of deliberate harm. Letby’s defense lawyer, Benjamin Myers KC, told jurors he could not dispute the test results because the original blood samples had been disposed of. A CPS spokesperson defended the verdicts, stating, "Two juries and three appeal court judges have reviewed a multitude of different strands of evidence against Lucy Letby." The Court of Appeal also rejected her request for an appeal in May 2024. With the CCRC now reviewing the case, the new expert findings raise serious concerns about the reliability of the medical evidence presented at trial. #LucyLetby #JusticeForLucyLetby #LegalReform #WrongfulConviction #MedicalEvidence #InsulinPoisoning #CriminalJustice Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Kanye West Sparks Outrage, Claims He Owns His Wife, Defends Diddy with New Business Move

Kanye West, now legally known as Ye, has once again ignited controversy with an unhinged spree of posts on X. In a series of all-caps rants, he made inflammatory comments about his wife, declared his superiority over other rappers, and even referred to himself as “Yaydolf Hitler.” Among the most alarming statements was Ye’s claim that he “owns” his wife. The rapper, who is married to Bianca Censori, posted, “MY WIFE DEMORALIZES B——” before following it up with a disturbing assertion of control over her. The post immediately sparked backlash, with critics calling it misogynistic and further evidence of his increasingly erratic behavior. Beyond his personal life, Ye also used his platform to voice support for his longtime friend Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently behind bars in Brooklyn facing federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. If convicted, Combs could spend the rest of his life in prison. Ye believes Diddy is being targeted unfairly and blasted celebrities for remaining silent on the case. As a show of financial support, Ye announced the launch of a Sean John collaboration on his Yeezy.com platform. “@ Yeezy.com I’m selling the Sean John collaboration that me and my brother spoke about before they locked him up we splitting the profits 50/50,” he posted. The t-shirts feature the “Sean John” logo—once the branding of Diddy’s now-defunct fashion line. Diddy’s legal troubles escalated in late 2023 after his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, filed a lawsuit accusing him of years of physical and sexual abuse. Though that case was settled, it unleashed a flood of additional lawsuits, leading to federal investigations and his subsequent arrest. In his X posts, Ye implied that the charges against Diddy are racially motivated, suggesting that “they” are trying to make an example out of him. His exact target was left vague, but the implication was clear—Ye believes the criminal justice system is unjustly targeting his friend. He continued by heaping praise on Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party, even referring to himself as a Nazi. He also made it clear that he has no intention of walking back his comments, writing that he would never apologize for his antisemitism.  Ye’s posts also included attacks on Black people, homophobic slurs, misogynistic rants, and ableist language. The flood of hate speech has reignited public outrage, with many calling for his X account to be suspended once again.  Ye also came to the defense of Chris Brown, who was convicted in 2009 for the brutal assault of Rihanna and has faced multiple lawsuits for alleged abuse in the years since. “We all watched them try to cancel Chris Brown,” Ye wrote, framing Brown as a victim rather than an aggressor.   While his latest posts have only fueled further backlash, Ye remains defiant. His website continues to sell “WHITE LIVES MATTER” shirts alongside cryptic symbols and slogans, some of which appear to carry hidden or controversial meanings. From his jail cell at the Metropolitan Detention Center, Diddy acknowledged Ye’s loyalty with a simple Instagram post: “Thank you to my brother, Ye.” With his latest outbursts, Ye has once again positioned himself at the center of controversy, deepening concerns over his behavior while reaffirming his willingness to defy public opinion—no matter the cost. #KanyeWest #Ye #Diddy #SeanJohn #BiancaCensori #HipHop #Controversy Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? How Jodi Hildebrandt Destroyed Marriages and Lives Before Her Arrest, New Documentary Released

Jodi Hildebrandt, the disgraced Mormon therapist sentenced to four to 30 years in prison for child abuse, was once a trusted counselor who claimed to help couples heal. However, a chilling new documentary reveals how she manipulated her clients, particularly women, into turning against their husbands—often leaving them with destroyed marriages and shattered reputations. Before forming an alliance with fellow convicted child abuser and YouTube parenting influencer Ruby Franke, Hildebrandt ran LifeStar Utah County, a franchise focused on treating sex and pornography addiction. Her methods, however, went far beyond therapy, as multiple former clients now claim she used fear and religious guilt to control families and break apart relationships. In The Curious Case Of… Jodi Hildebrandt, released by Investigation Discovery, male clients describe how she systematically alienated their wives, making them see their husbands as abusers or sinners. Adam Steed, one of Hildebrandt’s former clients, had sought therapy alongside his wife to cope with childhood trauma. Instead of healing, he claims Hildebrandt influenced his wife to the point where she “lost the ability to know for herself if something was right.” “She sought Jodi’s approval for everything,” Adam recalled. “It was like a drug for her.” Then, Adam says, his wife orchestrated a horrifying trap. After months of Hildebrandt’s strict guidance, which prohibited physical affection between spouses, Adam’s wife suddenly encouraged him to bathe their baby. While he was in the tub with the child, she entered the room in lingerie, acting flirtatiously. At first, Adam thought his wife was reconnecting with him. But when she saw his physical response, her demeanor changed. “She looked at my private parts disgusted and just walked off,” he said. Shortly after the incident, Adam’s wife filed for divorce, sought a protective order against him, and took full custody of their children. She accused him of having inappropriate boundaries due to his own history of childhood sexual abuse. “My biggest fear being a victim of sexual abuse was to be accused of being a sexual abuser,” he said. Adam wasn’t the only husband who lost everything under Hildebrandt’s guidance. Daniel Choate, another former client, described how his wife weaponized the therapist’s teachings against him. After admitting to occasionally looking at pornography, Daniel sought help from Hildebrandt alongside his wife. However, instead of helping them work through their differences, Hildebrandt convinced his wife that his actions were equivalent to infidelity. Soon, Daniel was sleeping outside the marital bed, forbidden from entering their shared bedroom except during specific time slots. “If I didn’t abide by these rules, she let me know that she was going to take the kids and leave,” he said. Eventually, his wife accused him of sexual misconduct and left him, cutting him off from his children. Through tears, Daniel denied the allegations. “I would never hurt my daughter,” he said. While Hildebrandt’s controversial therapy practices destroyed marriages, her crimes went even further. In August 2023, she was arrested and charged with six counts of aggravated child abuse. Authorities discovered two of Franke’s children at her residence in horrific conditions—starved, beaten, and restrained with duct tape. One of the children, a 12-year-old boy, managed to escape and seek help from a neighbor, leading to the arrests of both women. Hildebrandt pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated child abuse and was sentenced to four consecutive terms of one to 15 years in prison. In February 2024, Franke received a sentence of four to 60 years. Their exact sentences will be determined by the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole. Franke’s estranged husband, Kevin, had not seen their children for over a year and was not charged with any crime. Prosecutors revealed disturbing details during her trial, including doorbell camera footage showing the emaciated 12-year-old boy, shackled and covered in bruises, begging neighbors for help. The Curious Case Of… Jodi Hildebrandt is part of Investigation Discovery’s The Curious Case Of series, which airs Mondays at 10/9c. #JodiHildebrandt #RubyFranke #MormonScandal #TrueCrime #InvestigationDiscovery #MarriageManipulation #ChildAbuse Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? 6. Inside Diddy’s Empire: Former Insiders Reveal Threats, Sex Allegations, and a Culture of Power Abuse

Inside Diddy’s Empire: Former Insiders Reveal Threats, Sex Allegations, and a Culture of Power Abuse

Sean "Diddy" Combs, once hailed as a music mogul and cultural icon, is now facing a devastating reckoning as former employees and industry insiders come forward with allegations of threats, sexual misconduct, and corporate funds being used to facilitate a toxic work environment. Daniel Evans, a former music executive at Bad Boy Records, recalls a chilling moment in 1997 when Combs allegedly threatened a colleague’s life in his New York office. "I have so much money now that I could hire someone to kill you, and nobody would know," Evans remembers him saying. At the time, Combs had just received a $6 million payout for the label’s success, solidifying his status as one of the most powerful figures in the industry. Bad Boy Records, home to The Notorious B.I.G. and other top artists, quickly became known for its extravagant parties, high-profile events, and a culture that former employees now say enabled troubling behavior. Evans and others allege that Combs often had sex with women inside the label’s Daddy’s House recording studio and that company money was used to fly in women from around the country at the request of Combs, artists, and executives. “There was a course of conduct that became more egregious over time,” said attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents multiple alleged victims. One lawsuit accuses Combs of raping a woman at a 1995 promotional event for The Notorious B.I.G. She alleges that after the assault, Combs warned her, “You will disappear.” Combs has denied all allegations, with his legal team calling the lawsuits "fabricated accusations" and claiming the hip-hop mogul "never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone." However, multiple former employees paint a picture of an empire fueled by unchecked power. Felicia Newsome, who managed the Daddy’s House studio from 1994 to 2000, recalls being called in the middle of the night after an employee refused to fetch condoms for Combs. “I told him, ‘Don’t ever ask anyone here to get condoms,’” she said. Despite warnings from some senior staff, Bad Boy Records was largely run by young executives and interns, some of whom were underage. Evans remembers a 14-year-old intern propositioning him. "She said, ‘If you ever want to get loose, you and I should kick it… but not tonight, I have a curfew.’” Shocked, Evans sent her home, but weeks later, she was back working in the mailroom. Reports of sexual exploitation escalated over the years. Crystal McKinney, a model, alleges that Combs drugged and assaulted her at the studio in 2003. That same year, another woman claims she was gang-raped by Combs and two associates when she was 17. Combs’s reputation further deteriorated after surveillance footage surfaced showing him physically assaulting ex-partner Casandra Ventura in 2016. Ventura, who filed the first of many lawsuits against him, alleged years of abuse, violence, and sex trafficking before settling out of court. Many in the industry who once admired Combs are now questioning whether they ever truly knew the man behind the empire. "One could think that he's just a disgusting human being, but that's not my memory of Puff," said longtime friend Jimmy Maynes. "Or maybe money just gives people the freedom to be exactly who they really are, and he was that guy all along." As Combs awaits trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges, more details are expected to emerge, leaving his once-glorified legacy in ruins. #Diddy #BadBoyRecords #MusicIndustry #SexTrafficking #HipHop #Lawsuit #CelebrityScandal Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Judge Declines Special Hearing on Karen Read Defense Expert as Battle Over Witness Testimony Continues

As Karen Read’s highly anticipated murder retrial approaches, a judge ruled Friday that there is no need for a special hearing to determine whether defense-hired cell phone expert Richard Green can testify. Norfolk Superior Court Judge Beverly Cannone made the decision after hearing arguments from both the prosecution and defense, setting the stage for a critical ruling on Green’s role in the case. Read, 44, is accused of striking her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe, with her SUV and leaving him to die in a snowbank on January 29, 2022, after a night of drinking. She has pleaded not guilty, claiming she is the victim of a law-enforcement cover-up and that O’Keefe was fatally beaten inside a nearby Canton home before his body was left outside. Prosecutors had pushed for a hearing to examine Green’s credentials and methodology, with special prosecutor Hank Brennan arguing that Green’s claims were unreliable and “lack any evidentiary support.” Defense attorney Robert Alessi pushed back, arguing that Green is qualified and used five forensic tools to reach his conclusions.      Karen read-Defense attorney Robert Alessi.MP4 With Read’s retrial set to begin in April, the case is once again drawing national attention. Just weeks before the retrial, Investigation Discovery will air A Body in the Snow: The Trial of Karen Read, a three-night docuseries offering “unprecedented access” to Read, her legal team, and key figures in the case. The series, which will delve into the investigation and trial proceedings, will premiere on March 17 and 18 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., with a one-hour finale on March 19 at 9 p.m. It will also be available to stream on Max. With tensions high and the battle over forensic evidence heating up, Read is set to return to court on April 1 as both sides prepare for a fierce legal showdown. While Cannone ruled that a special hearing was unnecessary, she has not yet decided whether Green’s testimony will be allowed at trial. Green, a digital forensics expert, previously testified that Jennifer McCabe—who was with Read the night of O’Keefe’s death—googled “hos long to die in cold” around 2:30 a.m. The prosecution has maintained that McCabe only made the search hours later, at Read’s request, after O’Keefe’s body was discovered. Green also stated that McCabe had deleted call records, a claim that could prove crucial to Read’s third-party culprit defense. The prosecution also sought to block another defense expert, Dr. Marie Russell, from testifying, but Cannone rejected that effort after two lengthy hearings. Russell has testified that wounds found on O’Keefe’s arm were consistent with dog bites, contradicting the prosecution’s claim that he was struck by Read’s vehicle. The legal wrangling over expert witnesses is far from over. On Thursday, Cannone is expected to hear arguments on whether two FBI and DOJ accident reconstructionists, Andrew Rentschler and Daniel Wolfe, can testify in Read’s retrial. Rentschler previously testified that O’Keefe’s injuries were not consistent with being hit by a car, a key claim that challenges the state’s case against Read. Prosecutor Brennan has argued that Read’s defense team will not be able to meet discovery obligations under Rule 14, citing the “history and complexity” of the experts’ employment. The outcome of Thursday’s hearing could have significant implications for the retrial, as the defense continues to challenge the prosecution’s forensic evidence and investigative methods. Adding to the heightened public interest, Investigation Discovery is set to premiere A Body in the Snow: The Trial of Karen Read, a three-night docuseries offering behind-the-scenes access to Read, her attorneys, and key figures in the case. The series will air March 17 and 18 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., with a one-hour finale on March 19 at 9 p.m. It will also be available for streaming on Max. As Read’s retrial approaches on April 1, both sides are locked in an intense battle over evidence, expert testimony, and competing narratives about what really happened the night O’Keefe died. #KarenRead #JusticeForKarenRead #JohnOkeefe #TrueCrime #IDNetwork #CourtroomDrama #MurderTria Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE?
