Better than the History of Rome

I found out about Robin’s podcast on the history of the medieval Roman Empire after binge-listening to the fantastic History of Rome by Duncan. But after years of listening to him, I can comfortably say that Robin’s work is vastly superior to Duncan’s. It gets deeper, it’s more comprehensive, better organized, and more entertaining. Considering that Duncan’s work was outstanding, you get the idea of how good this podcast is. Unmatched

One of the best history podcasts available

The worthy successor of Mike Duncan’s “History of Rome”, this podcast is by far one of my favourites. While listening to it, you will follow Emperor Eraclio as he leads the last remaining Roman army in a desperate war against the encroaching Persian empire, or Belisarius as he reconquers Italy under the reign of Emperor Justinian. The author describes in great depth the local customs, history, socioeconomic and religious developments in the medieval Roman Empire. Because, let’s not forget it: the Byzantine, were Romans.

Home away from Rome

This podcast is the perfect continuation to the history of Rome podcast. It follows each period and each character with remarkable vividness and attention to detail. I recommend it to anyone who has a love for history
