Rejection is an opportunity for selection

Imagine living a life that is easy, uneventful, and full of acceptance. Where there is no fear of challenges, rejections, or failures. Doesn’t it sound like a comfort zone? Understand there is no growth in the comfort zone and there is no comfort in the growth zone. A soul can be strengthened only when it passes through the hardships, adversities, trials pains, and rejections. Being comfortable each day will not help you develop courage strength and confidence. They are developed only when you rise above the adversities, face the hardships and rise above rejections.

Many spiritual gurus will hate me, for saying this. “When you feel rejected, it is necessary to allow yourself to feel the pain of rejection.” People will tell you not to internalize that negative feeling, that sting of the setback. But I want you to feel it. Give a title to your rejection, and recognize your disappointment. Acknowledge the feeling. Why am I asking you to do so?

When you are acknowledging the feeling, you put all your efforts into finding the shortcomings, the flaws, the reasons, the loopholes for the rejection and failure. Don’t you think when you do so, you are moving a step ahead on the road of self-improvement? Now you will work on your shortcomings even harder. As you want to defeat this newfound enemy of yours. Rejection is an opportunity to reflect upon the exact reason or the seriousness of the mistakes which resulted in the failure. Use that reflection to understand what you could have done better so that you don’t repeat them again. Use that understanding the next time you take on a similar challenge. It makes your actions and decisions better and stronger. “It’s not important how hard you hit the bottom, it’s important how high you bounce back.”

Remember, a NO is not a dead end. In fact, NO is the Next Opportunity. Every rejection is an opportunity for your selection.
