The All Things Dad podcast is dedicated to creating stronger men who lead stronger families to contribute to a stronger world. It’s about uncovering what mindsets, habits and other factors work and what doesn’t work.

While the topic is primarily designed at dads, it isn’t just for dads. The qualities of being a strong man are needed in every man and many people need those qualities, even if they aren’t your biological children.

Episode 12: Is Work-Life Balance Possible?

Today’s topic is on how to grow and manage your career while not sacrificing your role as a father. I think many people can relate that it seems like a no-win situation nowadays – either work lots of hours and advance in your career OR thrive in your family life. And for most guys, this is a conflict. We all have this innate drive to succeed, to win, to be leaders. But, we also see our families and how they struggle when we are gone too much or emotionally depleted when we are home. We yearn to win in both arenas, but it isn’t exactly easy.

Episode 11: Leading in Times of Change

Change is just a part of life. But, that doesn't make it easy. In order to thrive, our families need fathers who can effectively lead changes, whether big or small. Maybe it's relocating, it's a new job, a new church, or a new school, change is change and can't be underestimated.

In this episode, I give some helpful lessons learned over the years in how to navigate the changes your family will inevitably face.

Here is a link to the assessment I referenced during the show that gives you a basic framework to know where you or your family naturally starts from when it comes to change:

Episode 7: How to Build and Maintain a Strong Community

Episode 7: How to Build and Maintain a Strong Community

In this episode, I talk with my good friend Marcus Mols about how to develop and maintain a solid community.

When I became a dad, my family took first priority. But, even though my family is my first priority, doesn't mean I have to go at it alone. I've been learning the importance of surrounding myself with strong friends who I can support and who can help me be a better man.

    Here are some highlights:
Take time to understand your expectations - for yourself and othersThere are changing reasons and seasons for different friendships and communities If you sense a community or friendship isn't working out anymore, take time (a lot of time) to discern what's the right move Surround yourself with people that represent the kind of guy you want to be
I hope you glean some wisdom from this conversation!
