Newton or Leibniz ? No, it was an Indian - Madhava!
This story brings to you the life of the Universal genius - Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, the man behind the stepped drum mechanical calculator. He was a celebrated mathematician, Physicist, scientist. He was charged with plagiarising Newton's work of Calculus which left him devastated for the rest of his life until his death. In the course of the story, we also look at the mammoth effort of Newton in the field of Physics.
Today we understand that Newton was not the sole inventor of Calculus. The western world now recognizes that Leibniz also invented the Calculus independent of Newton. But far fewer people know about the Indians who were pioneers in mathematics and astronomy. Madhava of Kerala worked on Calculus at least 500 years before this controversy over calculus by Newton and Leibniz. Will the world recognize ancient Indian's efforts? What are we to do?
