While it is annoying to receive these messages don't let this be a turn-off to influencer marketing. Understanding the psychological effects that happen to people when their favorite influencer backs a brand will help you decide the best course of action for your brand.

    With the influencer marketing industry becoming the fastest-growing online customer-acquisition method in 2021 and about three-quarters of consumers trust opinions they find on social media, including those from friends, families, and influencers, to help them make the right decision about buying a product or service.

    With 2020 growing companies like crazy that were already ready to sell online, more and more are looking to influencers as a way to grow and connect with new customers.

    Bear Talks Ep 5 - Psychographics and The Effects They Will Have On Your Marketing

    Psychographics- the study and classification of people according to their attitudes, aspirations, and other psychological criteria, especially in market research.

    In most small businesses' marketing, you see that they are more interested in demographics and less about what the customer is thinking and feeling. It is not really confusing as to why they are trying to get the largest group of leads possible but this thought is actually a misleading one. By targeting a large group with no psychographic differentiators you are spending more money to show your ad to people that are not actually a lead. 

    By segmenting and narrowing your scope on your target audience you only show your ad to people that will actually buy from you.

    In this podcast, I am going to justify story in an ad versus just listing all the positive effects that your company causes. How creative, interesting and interactive your ad determines the level of success that it will have. By laying out what kind of story you will tell, establishing the feeling you are making the audience feel, and locking down who the characters are, you make the process of creating an interesting ad easier on yourself. This is even great prep work to do before you approach an ads agency to create your ad. It takes the guesswork out of what they should make and gives them the freedom to create inside the story guidelines you have established.

    It was awesome talking to Chelsea from WhiteHearthCoffee. She has some amazing insight into the mind of an influencer and how you should approach someone for marketing. Remember that the person on the other end has most likely worked really hard to gain an audience and they don't owe you anything. I have heard of people being rude to influencers because they ask for money. They have something you want, an audience, and you have something they might want products or money.  Do not be surprised if they ask for something in return for posting.
