Hello Anna, I hope all’s well with you. I’m Kenta from Japan. I’m a huge fan of yours and I listen to your podcast as well as Culips every single day when I commute to work and go to university. When I have time in my hand, I make it a point of writing down the expressions and phrases that came up in each episode and I know but hardly use in my notes. I have found your idea fascinating and quite interesting that the simple is best. Since then, I have tried to use expressions as simple as possible. To tell the truth, I had been trapped by the thought that I have to use complicated phrases and big words when I speak English over the last two years, but after I listened to your podcast, I’ve realized I don’t have to go out of my way to do such things. Of course, knowing those fancy phrases and idiomatic expressions is a nice-to-have as passive vocabulary, but you don’t have to be obsessed with them whatsoever. Again. Thank you so much, Anna.
