    Grief Update: My Dad Died & Here's How I'm Navigating It

    I lost my dad very unexpectedly at the beginning of 2021 and this is my grief update. I recorded this 6 months after I lost him, and just now feeling ready to publish it.

    If you are struggling with grief right now, this is for you.
    Loss is not just death. Loss is a breakup from relationship or friendship, the death of a pet, a move, financial loss, job loss, etc. It all is valid and we don't compare losses.

    Here is how I got through it. Because we don't get over it. We get through it and for the rest of my life I will be continuing to move through it.

    When my dad first died, I clung to literally anything that gave me a sliver of hope. Please allow this to give you hope. The clouds do part, the sun does shine again. I promise.

    Do you constantly feel like you're always making mistakes and brain tells you you just can't do anything right?

    I'm there, well... weekly. But there was an event that happened this weekend that really triggered that insecurity in me and I had a beautiful conversation with the person giving me feedback that opened my eyes to a whole new way to view feedback and what it means.

    How to Nourish and Nurture Yourself

    I recently heard this quote from Tara Brach: "It is not survival of the fittest. It is survival of the most nurtured." I put my own spin on this to be "it is survival of the most nourished."

    Whether you are struggling with an eating disorder, grief, or having a tough time in your life right now, I go through ways in which you can nurture and nourish yourself through it.
    We have not have received nurturing when we were children, so in our adult life, we may not know how to even nurture or nourish ourself through the life changes, the loss, the struggles, etc.

    I break it down for you in this episode with real life examples of how you can start creating moments in your life where you feel okay again.
