Students Laura Baptista, Breijanna Ward, Sahara Rose and Alex Gonzalez in the Honors College at UMass Boston are combating hidden wounds for college students and amplifying mental health awareness as a community project for their Sports and Social Change course. Through this podcast and with the help of a few special guests, issues of anxiety, coping mechanisms, mindfulness, mental health treatment, sports and physical activity, social media, and societal and cultural expectations will be discussed. This is an independent podcast solely for the purpose of this course.

Episode 3: Student Athlete Interview & Mental Health Stigma
We'll be talking directly with a student-athlete about their experience with mental health and resources on campus. We will also be providing outside resources on mental health.

Episode 2: Associate Professor of Psychology Dr. Sarah Hayes-Skelton
We'll be discussing anxiety (generalized, social, and competitive) which will be followed up by coping mechanisms and mindfulness strategies.

Episode 1: Staff Psychologist Kimberly Santora
We'll be giving you a brief introduction to mental health in college by discussing topics like stress, anxiety, depression, grades, sports and physical activities, perfectionism, individual and group therapy and social media.
