    The .500 Club

Welcome to Today Your Love, Tomorrow the World Series, the new/old favorite from Chris McShane and Brian Salvatore.
The Mets are a .500 baseball team and, in 2024, that might be enough? Brian and Chris also discuss a crazy promotional event from 1987, the plight of the returning relievers, and the need for J.D. Martinez to find his power stroke.
    Chris’s Music Pick:
    Shellac - Excellent Italian Greyhound
    Brian’s Music Pick:
Danielson Famile - Fetch the Compass Kids

    The Worst of Times

    The Worst of Times

Grace is back after another week of Mets baseball. She recaps the week that has passed, with the highlights and many, many lowlights. She also gets into the concern around both Jeff Mcneil and Pete Alonso's production thus far this season. Who or what is to blame, what's the solution, and what could it mean for the future of the team?
Next, there's a week before the WNBA season begins, and all eyes will be on the league in maybe their biggest season yet. Grace decides to give a primer on all the teams. The good the bad, the ugly, who to root for if you're not rooting for the Liberty (though Grace DEFINITELY thinks you should be rooting for the Liberty).
Finally, another two-pronged movie minute. A classic movie from the thick of the Hollywood Blacklist of the 1950s, and a book about the making of said movie and the climate of the industry during the time.

    Trouser Truther

    Trouser Truther

Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, an all-women led Home Run Applesauce podcast where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space.
This week, we begin by discussing the Mets’ woes this past week, with the exception of the Francisco Lindor Flu Game and Christian Scott’s stellar major league debut. The bullpen is starting to show cracks in the foundation and Pete Alonso is extremely not himself, which is contributing to an inconsistent offense.
Next, we talk about the recent City Connect drops, Brandon Nimmo’s new nickname (the Trouser Truther), NL East notes (RIP Marlins), MLBPA’s new mental health and wellness program, and more.
Finally, we wrap things up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise.

    Guys are moving on up

    Guys are moving on up

Welcome to From Complex to Queens, Home Run Applesauce’s podcast focusing on the Mets’ minor league system.
The Mets had a rough weekend in Tampa Bay St. Petersburg, so we discuss the most painful way to lose a ballgame. We move next to our draft updates; Cam Caminitti and Carson Benge continue to excel, and the latter remains our preferred likely draft target.
Moving on to the system performance this week, every level was middling record wise. There were a number of standout performers, however, with pitchers like Blade Tidwell leading the way (also Matt Rudick keeps hitting). We wrap up by discussing promotions - Jonah Tong and Christian Scott are sources for real excitement, but we’re still in wait and see mode on Nick Morabito.

    Where’s the Color?

    Where’s the Color?

Grace is back after a less than stellar week in Mets baseball. She gets into the Mets recent woes, and some of the biggest problems they’re currently facing, both in terms of offense and pitching. She also gets into the recent news that Nike will be fixing the jersey problems, what they’ll be doing and how embarrassing all this has been.
Then, Grace gives her ranking of the City Connect jerseys, now that the Mets and Rays jerseys have been released. She gets into what differentiates a great jersey from a good one and what the cardinal sin of jerseys are (and how to avoid boring jersey design problems) in her eyes, at least.
Finally, Grace has a very new movie minute, a brand new release that Grace can’t stop raving about, and the ideal format to see it in (because of course the ideal place to see it is always the movie theater).
