The Journey of Womanhood (with Sadiyah Houghton)

In celebrating women’s month in South Africa, and the second season of my podcast, I decided to have conversation with women throughout this month who will be sharing their personal idea of womanhood and the impact of societal ideals about womanhood in their relationships, careers, friendships, and all roles which they occupy. I have an extensive conversation with Sadiyah Houghton who is an LLB graduate, member of UP Women In Law, a founder of Lesedi Foundation and an amazing friend of mine. We discuss the four markers of womanhood in the 21st century, the transition from being a girl into being a woman, the impact of societal expectations on the mental health of black women and the future of women as she sees it. It is quite a raw and honest conversation about her experience of being a woman which I know you’ll definitely enjoy

What Self Care is Not, What It Is And Why It Is Important

Self-care has been such a trendy topic in the past few years and I thought it’s important that we have a conversation about it. Not because it is trendy, but because I believe that having conversations about concepts that are familiar to us enables us to be redefine those concepts for ourselves and possibly gain more than we did from the practice of self care. This episode was created with intense research and desire to really understand the concept of self care and to enable you to make self care a part of your daily life
