Lawyers in Alaska are hoping to become a more diverse profession, and ideally more accessible. And the Alaska Department of Transportation has temporarily closed a trail across a desecrated burial ground.

    On today’s Midday Report with host Terry Haines: The Alaska Judicial Council has voted to recommend retention of all 19 judges on the November ballot, but not without dissent. The Donlin Gold project plans to be powered by a gas pipeline stretching hundreds of miles to Cook Inlet. And the Alaska Federation of Natives has rolled-out plans for its October convention, with a program dedicated to the younger generation.
