Can AI support greater understanding and connection between people? What are some of the limits today to doing this and can they be overcome? Join Michael Stevens of Translated in a lively discussion with panelists that are making the understanding of Conversation Intelligence a reality. Host: Michael Stevens, Vice President Americas, Translated At Translated, Michael Stevens is responsible for growth: finding interesting companies to work with and challenging many assumptions about localization in the process. As co-host of The Global podcast, he explores areas of the localization industry that spark his own curiosity and he then shares it with the industry at large. Together with Translated's CEO Marco Trombetti, Sébastien created Pi School of AI, a hands-on training program, currently in its 8th edition with 156 trained AI engineers. Vikram Modgil is an AI practitioner with more than 18 years of Vision & Speech AI experience. He has been part of many successful startups such as Mu Sigma ($1.2B), Fractal ($0.6B) as well as AI SaaS companies like Teradata. He has a software engineering degree and is also the founder of the AI ethics community, TheGoodAI.org. Vikram leads the growth team at Symbl AI (an Amazon back speech AI developer platform). Jorge Ferreiro is a Spanish software engineer and growth product manager at Streamyard (Hopin), leading international expansion. He is obsessed with making products accessible, free of language barriers. ️He formerly worked at Eventbrite and Amazon, and loves live-streaming and virtual events. Smrati Gupta is the Data Analytics Lead at Microsoft Teams. She has 11 years of experience in building data models in pure academic environments for satellite communication to apply data driven machine learning solutions in products of domains such as gaming, video streaming, and enterprise software. She has previously held positions at Xbox, Broadcom, and CA Technologies. She holds a PhD in Telecommunications and Systems Engineering. More intriguingly, Magalhaes is self-taught. Magalhaes is the author of three books: “O Eu em Cubos” (2003), “His Majesty, the Interpreter” (2007), and “The Language Game: Inspiration & Insight for Interpreters” (2019). Fardad Zabetian CEO and Co-Founder of KUDO, Inc., has hatched five companies, two before the age of 24 and two of which were named by the Daily Deal Flow as “fastest growing businesses in America.” The tech entrepreneur has spent a lifetime removing frictions between people and in ways that have disrupted how audio, video and language interpretation is used in global business. All of these experiences have enabled him to work with diplomats, government executives, and the heads of legendary institutions globally. Kristen Giovanis, CEO, United Language Group, is the CEO of United Language Group, one of the largest language service providers in the world. Before ULG, Kristen served as the co-founder and CEO of KJ International Resources, a Minneapolis-based LSP that was a part of the merger that created United Language Group. Kristen founded KJI during her final year of law school at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and has spent the last 25 years as a leader within the language services space.     Host: Michael Reid
    A linguist, translator, interpreter, consultant, and educator with more than 24 years of experience, Michael Reid has led workshops for a broad variety of groups and stakeholders on diversity, cross-cultural and cross-linguistic communication, and race issues, and has chaired and sat on the board of multiple organizations working for diversity and inclusion. He has working proficiency in six languages.
     
    Dwain Richardson has completed studies in music, modern languages and communication, and translation. In addition to working as a freelance copy editor and translator, Richardson is an aspiring technical writer and editor, expressing interests in industries such as environment and renewable energy, public transit, architecture, and medicine.
     
    Camisia Glasgow is a former community interpreter, Camisia’s love for languages dates back to her Caribbean childhood. She’s most passionate about the localization of global content and the potential of new technologies in remote recording and postproduction to democratize and diversify voices on the market. She enjoys using language and culture as vehicles for integrating communities and igniting empathy. She’s done so as a language educator, ethnographer, international curriculum writer, and civil rights advocate.
     
    Autumn Smith is a localization professional, translator, and creative who has experience in international marketing, community development, cross-cultural team management, and creative solution building. Fluent in Japanese, she has lived and worked in China and Japan and is passionate about bridging cultural boundaries.
     
    Errol de Jesús is a trilingual copywriter and translator who focuses on diversity and multiculturalism in her work. She also writes about raising her trilingual son on her blog, Morenita Mommy. When she’s not writing for companies that want to change the world, she enjoys reading books, listening to music, and watching movies in other languages.
     
    Gennike Mayers is the CEO of Interpreting Your Needs, a trilingual language services bureau based in Tobago. Today Gennike is a newly minted author, having released the book “CARICOM: Good Offices, Good Neighbours” which began as a Master’s dissertation in Contemporary Diplomacy with the University of Malta.
     
    Jamila Ball, Esq. works internationally as the founder of Jamii Linguists, a multilingual communications department for freedom fighters. With Jamila's 18+ years as a Spanish linguist, she specializes in Black-centric language coaching that promotes intercultural connections in the African Diaspora.
