ParentPath: The Homeschooling Toolbox Lauren Travers

Lauren Travers and Chelsea Dolinar-Hikawa both educators and mothers share insights and strategies about how to enter the first play-dates during this new time we are in.  Lauren Travers is The Founder and Director of The Q StudioLab education Center in Sunnyside Queens.  She is working with an incredible team of educators to explore how to support our children during this unprecedented time so that they remain open to relationships and engaged with the world.  Chelsea Dolinar-Hikawa has worked in Chicago public schools to support children to connect to one another through music, theater and varied learning strategies that support the relationship building of children from different cultures and languages to one another.  

Lauren Travers works with parents of children from 2 year olds to 15 year olds to help find individualized strategies for supporting children.  This episode is a simple, bite size set of ideas to remember as you begin to re-enter society more with your children.  We all need ideas to help ground us during this time-these are the ones that have been most useful!

Ms. Lauren Travers has worked with children from preschool through high school for more than 30 years.  She is currently Executive Director of Amazing Magic Beans Learning Center and The Q StudioLab Education Center in Sunnyside, Queens.  In our work, we have discovered simple tips and techniques that can help when you feel overwhelmed by the day in front of you...or when your child feels that way.  We have found that during this time of powerful and important current events, children's focus on school work or on completing a task can be spotty at best.  This week, together with Ms Gina Jung, we give you some quick tricks about using Time to get you through!

Ms Lauren and Ms Gina are two educators and mothers who discuss specific strategies to help you at home while you are homeschooling and living with your children-together with no break.  We work together as part of a team at The Q StudioLab education center in Sunnyside Queens in a unique elementary program that supports a love of learning and parent partnership as the basis of how children can deeply learn about the world, their peers, and themselves.  In our community we are all struggling-but through specific techniques, humor and just saying it as it is-we can help each other.
