    Cycling 906km in 25 hours with diabetes - George Kirkpatrick

    Competitive endurance sports are some of the most physically and mentally challenging events you can experience. Adding diabetes into the mix adds another level altogether, with serious consequences if you get it wrong. 

    Despite this George has thrived, winning the 25 hour Red Bull Timelaps cycling race twice, in triathlon representing Great Britain at the full Ironman distance, as well as a number of other ultra events. 

    An outstanding example for other diabetics as well as some key takeaways on training, wanting it, and the mindset needed to crush your competitors over 900km. "Winning is a choice".



    Note: Unfortunately a sound failure reduced the quality of the second half of the recording. Hang in there, George's story is well worth it.

    From rugby injuries to endurance beast - Humphrey Bodington

    After a string of concussions, Humphrey Bodington was forced to abandon the rugby pitch for good. Keen to discover his limit, Ironman seemed like the obvious choice followed by a number of ultramarathons, including a 114 miler in 24 hours, and the ‘200 Challenge’ he set himself.

    Combining strength and endurance training whilst raising awareness and working with charities that support athletes who suffer head injuries in sport, Humphrey has since launched his own company Conka with the aim of improving brain recovery through a combination of natural ingredients and neuroscience.

    Something for athletes of all levels as we discuss training, marathons, getting into ironman and taking it to the next level, including the role of strength training and setting your own challenges.
