Revive Ministries is essentially under the medical missionary umbrella focusing on emotional and mental well-being, although we do not proselytize. We started podcasting in October 2019. With 150+ hours of content, we listened to many stories of recovery and learned many lessons to move forward. We have a focused series each month, like "It's Okay to Fall," "It's Not The End... Finding Hope," "Processing Our Pain: Tribute to PTSD Month," "Healing Our Community: Tribute to National Wellness Month," and several others. “REMEMBERING OUR NAMES” Tribute to Mental Health Awareness Month With Mark Smith

    Welcome to Revive Ministries Podcast. As we go into May, we are reminded of how far mental health has come since the turn of the 20th century to where we are today. However, there is still so much work left to be done. Last month, I mentioned this African Proverb, and I feel it is still relevant to this month’s theme.

    “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go with others.” – African proverb.

    “Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” — Mark Twain

    “REMEMBERING OUR NAMES” Tribute to Mental Health Awareness Month with Jonathan Niziol

    “REMEMBERING OUR NAMES” Tribute to Mental Health Awareness Month with Jonathan Niziol

    Welcome to the Revive Ministries Podcast. As we go into May, we are reminded of how far mental health has come since the turn of the 20th century to where we are today. However, there is still so much work left to be done. Last month, I mentioned this African Proverb and I feel it is still relevant to this month’s theme: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go with others.”

    Today we had Jonathan Niziol here to discuss this matter with us.

    Short Bio;

    Jonathan's journey took a dramatic turn after the sudden passing of his mother just before his 21st birthday, followed by the heartbreaking loss of three close friends and a traumatic experience of sexual assault during a casting as an adult. These events triggered a downward spiral spanning over a decade, marked by battles with alcohol and drug addiction, panic disorder, anxiety, and depression, impacting every facet of his life from jobs to relationships. Today, he celebrates 15 years of sobriety from alcohol and 6 1/2 years free from all other substances. As an esteemed international model, he has become a beacon of inspiration within the fitness and wellness community, known for his genuine and supportive demeanor that touches those around him. Yet, he remains determined to extend his impact even further.

    Mental Health is complicated. Some remember that a person's identity does not stem from their mental health condition but rather from the individual themselves—their names.

    “REMEMBERING OUR NAMES” Tribute to Mental Health Awareness Month with Robert

    Welcome to Revive Ministries Podcast. As we go into May we are reminded of how far Mental Health has come since the early turn of the 20th century to where we are today. However, there is still so much work left to be done.

    Remembering our names is a response I felt having struggled in my life with Mental Health Issues. The idea is that Mental Health can be inconvenient and a struggle for the individual and family/support to adjust. Several factors may play a role in a person getting appropriate help. Unfortunately, at times, the question of why we care about Mental Health is simpler; the individual who is suffering is a daughter, son, wife, husband, or parent whose quality and value do not diminish due to having a Mental Health condition, and instead remember their names in our lives first.

    Today I will be sharing my insight on the topic.

    “Too many people overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they are.” - Malcolm S. Forbes
