Did you know that the identified patient within the dysfunctional family is selected to outsource dysfunction?  Narcissistic family scapegoat children are selected for the same reason.  The identified patient in a dysfunctional family is often considered the black sheep and this is one of the many challenges that children who are unfortunately tagged to play the dysfunctional role of scapegoat also faces.  The narcissistic family system is designed to silence those who have been selected as scapegoat when he or she was a child.  His or her family might hold them to an unrealistic expectation such as taking dark secrets to the grave.
