On Saturday the 9th March Fleetwood Market will be having a celebration with a historical and traditional sign writing event.
Heritage Officer Alexandra Holt interviews Cheryl Parry and Market House artist Lisa Wigham about current projects and activities including a free traditional sign writing demonstration in the Market Gallery.

12.30pm - 1pm – “Heritage Sign Making demonstration” - Join local artist Lisa Wigham in the gallery space where she will share new artwork from her Arts Council of England ‘Endangered Craft Project’ and the traditions of sign painting, which are in danger of becoming lost crafts. Inspired by heritage hand-lettered signs and posters, once part of the everyday life of Fleetwood Market.
Browse the gallery filled with before and after photos of the projects in and around Fleetwood as part of the Heritage Action Zone scheme – the display will be on throughout March.
11.00am – 2pm – “Just Reminiscing” - Visit Just Reminiscing in the gallery space to see old artifacts, objects, and scrapbooks from different decades.
