As Halloween approaches, Ipswich is ready to embrace the spooky spirit with multiple community events for families and horror fans alike. Councillor Pye Augustine shared her excitement for the festivities and provided details on top Halloween events set to scare and delight.
At the top of the list is “Nightmare Before Milford Street” in Redbank Plains. Hosted by residents Christy and Nick, this immersive Halloween experience draws hundreds of visitors each year, with their home transformed into a haunted spectacle of animated figures and spine-chilling decor. Councillor Augustine, who visited last year, said, “If I said 200 people came through, I’d be short of a few.” The event is free, and all are welcome to stop by Milford Street between 5 and 8 p.m. on Halloween night.
For those looking for a more family-friendly Halloween experience, Yamanto Central Shopping Center is also inviting locals to get into the Halloween spirit by dressing up and visiting the shopping center for treats and fun activities. “Halloween is all about having fun, dressing up, and enjoying the night safely,” added Augustine.
Meanwhile, neighborhoods in Springfield will be filled with trick-or-treaters exploring the community. Families planning to participate are encouraged to keep their porch lights on if they wish to welcome costumed guests. Councillor Augustine noted that many families around Springfield and beyond look forward to the annual tradition of trick-or-treating.
Whether it’s facing phantoms or collecting candy, Ipswich has Halloween covered this year.
