About
The Podfeet Podcasts are a collection of technology-related shows by Allison Sheridan. The flagship show is the NosillaCast, which is a Technology Geek Podcast with an EVER so Slight Apple Bias. Topics include product reviews, rants about technology, IoT, automation, programming, and coverage of tech conferences such as CES and CSUN’s Assistive Technology Conference. The NosillaCast has been running weekly without missing a single episode since 2005.
Programming By Stealth is an audio podcast where co-host Bart Busschots is teaching Allison (and the audience) how to program, which sounds crazy, but it comes with excellent tutorial shownotes written by Bart. Bart's emphasis is on teaching us how to learn to program, not just learning one language. We've covered HTML, CSS, JavaScript and the Git version control system with plans for PHP next on the list. This is an evergreen show so you can hop into any topic you like.
Chit Chat Across the Pond Lite is an interview show by Allison covering mostly tech topics, along with numerous accessibility topics and even the study of human memory from a renowned psychology researcher.
If you want both Chit Chat Across the Pond Lite and Programming By Stealth, you can subscribe to the full Chit Chat Across the Pond feed.
Taming the Terminal is again an audio podcast with Allison and Bart. In this evergreen series, Bart teaches how to use the macOS Terminal, and of course, he includes fabulous tutorial shownotes. Wherever possible, Bart includes the equivalent commands for Linux (which includes the Windows Subsystem for Linux), but the focus is primarily on the Mac.
Hank’s History Hour is a podcast designed to teach the essential information needed to pass the Advanced Placement exam in European History in the United States. Hank was 18 when he recorded this series, and it's an evergreen podcast with an entirely new set of listeners every year. For kids in high school, it is really helpful to hear the lessons taught by a fellow high school student who starts them with sentences like, "Let me tell you about my favorite corrupt popes!"
