Horror Movie Club

I have a personal story with this podcast. I stumbled upon this podcast at the very beginning of the pandemic when I was living in Germany, far from my family, and watching a lot of horror movies to distract myself from the "horrors" around me. At first, I thought it was too hyper local and too “US” for me, with all the references to Ohio and so on. But the duo of hosts quickly made me feel at home. I remember the day my grandmother back home passed away, and I couldn't even attend the funeral, I was just wandering around Berlin aimlessly, listening to some random episode. In the moments of emotional numbness I had the energy to listen and laugh about whether or not wearing a fedora makes you less scary of a killer and so on. Time passes, life gets better, I got back home surrounded by friends and family, and got way less free time to roam around and be emo but I still listen to you out of habit, like, i find and assign time specifically to listen to it and I find great comfort in it. It's as if you're two random friends I'll never meet, but your views, problems, and even your humor are very close to me. I enjoy listening to every episode, even movies I would never watch in my life, and I've adopted some of your opinions about movies. ❤️ 10/10
