Forever Young

This episode is titled “Forever Young” in memory of Derrick Robie, whose tombstone reads “𝑰𝒏 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒈.” On August 2, 1993, Eric Smith (13) brutally murdered Derrick Robie (4). To this day, only a handful of details have been released to the public and they’re enough to make me ask “what in the actual fu**?!” at least a dozen times. Murder is a heinous act, but there’s something about children killing children that is almost too much to bear.
