    Finding Common Ground with a Divided Government

    Today is special.  Today I will discuss our common ground through our first amendment of the Bill of Rights.  Today is also special because I have the opportunity to feature an excerpt from Writer, Director, and Choreographer Tony Spinsoa's new musical, Singing Revolution. 'Singing Revolution' is a contemporary musical with a Europop score. It’s the story of Taavi Tamm, the leader of a resistance movement, who falls in love with the daughter of his enemy. Inspired by the real history of the Estonian revolution against the Soviet Union, our hero leads his fellow countrymen to freedom through the power of song. 'Singing Revolution' parallels our current times and a reminder that the power of peaceful resistance can change the world.     Each week I have been discussing a line from the first document of the Charters of Freedom, The Declaration of Independence.  In addition, I also highlight a great American, and I select from all walks of life, Asian American, Latin American, Hispanic American, African American and European American, because we have a plethora of gifts to choose from. As we move closer to the election, today it is important to review the first document from the Charters of Freedom. I also think, if I understand the Charters of Freedom, it inspires me to select the best person to represent my rights and your rights and today that person is you.
