Letting Go Technique

This Little Light of Mine - Guided Meditations

With the loving support and guidance of many mentors, others on a journey of growth and healing, and by using the 'Letting Go' technique of Dr. David Hawkins, I'm learning that I can experience new ways of being at ease in my own body.

I'm learning that I can be with my feelings without running, numbing, shaming, blaming, performing, shopping, endless scrolling or avoiding.

When we learn to 'let go' we can experience a sudden release of an inner pressure that may feel like the dropping of a weight.

Letting go is accompanied by a sudden feeling of relief and lightness. This may bring on increased happiness, feeling free, or being more at ease in your own body.

Letting go is a natural mechanism of our mind. When we use this technique to be with our feelings we build more love, empathy, and compassion for ourselves and for the world around us.

When we don't let go of feelings, but instead try to run, numb, or think our way around our feelings we trap the energy of our feelings inside of us. It is the accumulated pressure of feelings that causes thoughts. One feeling can create literally 1000s of thoughts over a period of time. This trapped energy of our feelings is what creates dis-ease in our bodies.

When letting go it is important to ignore all thoughts. Focus on the feeling itself, not on the thoughts. Thoughts in and of themselves are painless, but not the feelings that underlie them.

The purpose of this meditation is to assist you in becoming aware of a feeling, to help you stay with the feeling, to focus on letting out the energy behind the feeling, and to guide you through the resistance that keeps feelings going. It's when we resist fully feeling our feelings that they persist.
