Cast Away Podcast Podcast

The Cast Away Podcast is about the making of the Australian podcast awards. The Cast Away Awards aim to give Australian podcasters something to aspire towards, increase our sense of community, and raise the profile of podcasting in Australia. They are being organised by a group of people passionate about podcasting, and spearheaded by the host of this podcast, Dave Gertler. This podcast is Dave's way of sharing the journey of Cast Away as it unfolds!

    3 - Four more judges

    Four More Judges Confirmed: With momentum behind podcast registrations continuing to grow (now at 168), we've been busy behind the scenes augmenting the judging panel, which has now stretched to eight industry experts, and will continue to grow. We are excited to announce the addition to the panel of: Dave Lee (USA) - Co-Founder of International Podcast Day Jarrod Pickford (VIC) - Founder of Podmatcher Josh Butt (NSW) - Content producer at MediaCom Beyond Advertising Sara DaSilva (USA) - Writer/Editor of Audible Feast podcast review website We welcome and thank Josh, Sara, Dave and Jarrod, and we look forward to sharing their bios on the new website, when we relaunch on 28th November. Cast Away Weekly Podcast on the Omny Discovery Feed: Cast Away is the Australian podcasting awards, and we consider it part of our role to also BE a podcaster - to keep in touch with the realities podcasters contend with at the coalface of this pursuit. Our podcast Cast Away Weekly* is basically this newsletter in podcast format. We're keeping it simple for now, but who knows what will develop! Hosted by Whooshkaa, available on iTunes, we're also included in Omny Studio's Podcast Discovery Feed, an intuitive discovery innovation from Omny Studio, which can be utilised by listeners via most devices and podcatching apps. We asked Sophie Kneebone, Omny Podcast Manager, how Discovery Feed has been going. "The response to the Discovery Feed has been incredibly positive. We've had over 800 subscribers to the feed since it launched and a wide range of podcasters have submitted their shows to be included in it. We're excited to see that number grow even more!"
