The living benefits of permanent life insurance are often discussed and sometimes the primary purpose of life insurance is forgotten. Premiums are paid for the primary purpose of replacing the income from a loss of life. When beneficiaries receive the death benefit, they do not pay income taxes on it because it is not income. It is for the replacement of income due to the loss of life. This will not change.
