S2E4: Tomorrow's Government with Jaideep Prabhu, Professor of Marketing, University of Cambridge

ReCast with Saurabh Sardana

Tomorrow's government will be all about foretelling what is going to happen tomorrow and delivering that today to its constituents. In this episode, Saurabh is joined by Jaideep Prabhu, an author, professor and thought leader. Jaideep is currently the Professor of Marketing, Jawaharlal Nehru Professor of Indian Business and Enterprise, and Director of the Centre for India & Global Business at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. He is the co-author of Jugaad Innovation: Think Frugal, Be Flexible, Generate Breakthrough Growth, described by The Economist as "the most comprehensive book" on the subject of frugal innovation. Jaideep recognises that although innovation is the major strategy for companies worldwide, the current economic climate is suppressing R&D budgets and traditional highly structured innovation processes. Western companies, he says, should look to the frugal and flexible approach to innovation used by countries like India, Brazil and China as they lead the way in economic growth. [05:18] What is one big trend you've observed post-pandemic for the education industry? [18:11] How can businesses keep their customers excited and delighted in the post-pandemic era? [23:51] How would you explain innovation to a non-business audience? [34:08] What is Jugaad? [45:46] What is the one piece of advice you offer to bureaucrats? Listen to the podcast to discover untold stories and unfiltered content from marketers, researchers, technologists, and artists to share, inspire and reflect on their journeys and plan for the future.
