    My grandfather, being the gentleman he is, graciously offered to give them a lift. He drove the women home and, in true Irish fashion, they invited him in for a cup of tea to say thanks. My grandfather accepted their offer and went into the house for a cup of tea. So, grab a hot chocolate, maybe a tea, pull up a chair … because this is Haunted UK Podcast’s Talk Haunts– Defining Ghosts with Loyd Auerbach who is, of course, a world-renowned parapsychologist – known to many as ‘Professor Paranormal’ – with forty-five years of experience investigating the paranormal and over forty years teaching courses in parapsychology. He is the director of the Office of Paranormal Investigations, president of the Forever Family Foundation and president of the Board of Directors of the Rhine Research Center where he teaches online parapsychology courses. Loyd is also a prolific author and co-author of many titles such as A Paranormal Casebook, ESP Wars: East & West and Psychic Dreaming – alongside many other notable works including fiction. He can be regularly seen on episodes of The UnXplained, Surviving Death on Netflix as well as a number of other shows on various platforms.  Join Steve and Marie as they chat with Loyd about his incredible career, what parapsychology involves and how we can define ghosts – as well as many of his ‘ghostbusting’ experiences.     Northumbria University and The Haunted UK Podcast need your help. If you have suffered at any time throughout your life with sleep paralysis, then we want to hear from you. Dr Emma Barkus of Northumbria University, has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, as well as a PHD in Psychology and Neuroscience. A while ago she approached the Haunted UK Podcast as an avid listener…with a question. Would we be prepared to help out in a scientific study, to try and further understand the condition of sleep paralysis.     ‘Exhausted, he approached his doorstep with heavy footsteps; his eyes glued to the cobblestones – when he heard the clang of something hit the ground … it was a comb, the symbol of the banshee, and when he looked ahead to his doorstep, an old ghostly woman with the longest grey hair looked at him; her face wizened … she silently pointed up to the sky with her fingers …’ The banshee is a Celtic legend who heralds death to families on the island of Ireland; we’ll be exploring her history, her myth – as well as some real-life encounters with this wailing entity.     Amelia lay awake for what seemed like hours, and with her windows closed but the shutters open, she decided to gaze out her window and admire the beautiful moonlit countryside. Amelia's bedroom window gave her an ideal view of the large lawn and the border of trees, which stood between Coglin Grange and the old graveyard; as her eyes scanned the silhouettes and shapes cast by the moonlight, she noticed that two small bright lights had now appeared in the treeline. These lights were moving through the trees and steadily towards the lawn … but what were they? ... Eye shine from an animal? ...
