We Demand Podcast

We Demand is a series that takes a personal look at advocacy on campus. Throughout history, college campuses often function as a breeding ground for advocacy and cultural movements. Whether it be the Chinese communist revolution which began with student groups on campus, or the 1970 nationwide strikes against the invasion of Cambodia, conversations begin with student groups. Last year, Emerson had its own student group protest led by POWER (Protesting Oppression With Education Reform). Through this series I intend to examine, on a personal level, what moves activists to protest. This will be an intimate window, a sort of oral history, of culture at Emerson, and thus a window into our nation’s future.
