Anglero, Nordic Director of Innovation at IBM..  In this episode, Fredrik Tønnesen, CEO of Elkjøp Norway shares his experiences with launching the PS5 in Norway, how to compete with your own business when you have a significant online presence and brick & mortar stores throughout the country, what it takes to be a leader, and so much more.   Fredrik began sharing the behind the curtain events of what it takes to launch and manage the PS5 launch in Norway from a CEO and leader perspective.  He shares funny stories as well as challenges with personnel and the business side.  Fredrik is a pure leader and he shares his steps as to how to lead people, a national organization, and the elusive millennial workforce.    Most importantly, Fredrik explained how to motivate and train his people.  Not just on technology but on being the best engaging salespeople you have ever met.  Fredrik personally makes 50-100 store visits a year but not just as the CEO to meet & greet but to also restock the store shelves and to sell items to customers just like any other salesperson.  Fredrik shares all and he's a role model for many other leaders to follow in retail. In this episode, Jason Turflinger, Managing Director of AMCHAM (American Chamber of Commerce in Norway) shares his experiences with the over 200+ companies that AMCHAM has partnered with since he took over a decade ago and what they have done, and what are they doing to survive and prosper post-Covid. Jason began by discussing the various ways companies have handled the Covid period and shared insightful strategies of many different industries.  Jason discussed how certain companies have had to let people go and other companies who felt that if they let people go (fired) then it shows that they did not plan properly for the future.  Jason also gave a breakdown of the top 3 industries that did the best during Covid and also a top 3 of companies that were the least affected. Most importantly, Jason explained how AMCHAM provided its members with some verbal assistance when it comes to finding new employment.  This is something that is not advertised publicly but can be a huge benefit for many AMCHAM members who have let go of many good employees.   Jason concluded that Norway will do well after Covid.  The people and culture are strong and many member companies have implemented plans that will elevate them to the top of their industry. In this episode, Anders Askevold, Manager Smart Centre at GS1 Norway shares his experience of working with partners on innovation and taking risks with the newest technologies that can improve your business.   Our discussion begins with talking about the state-of-the-art technology visitor center that Anders has built-in Oslo, Norway.  The GS1 Smart Centre in Norway is incredible.  Every item, every technology has been strategically placed so when partner companies come into use the facility they are immediately inspired to take risks and think differently.  Creating this incredible environment is critical to being innovative and trying technologies that other competitors in your industry are not using yet. Our discussion then focuses on RFID technology and the benefits specifically for the retail industry.   Anders has years of experience at GS1, explaining cutting-edge technologies to companies. Trine also shares her wisdom on how she improved the culture amongst her employees at Cisco Norway through the use of video conferencing.  Most importantly, she shares how to increase trust amongst co-workers by implementing daily video yoga, wine tasting, and including families and friends into the live video conferencing.  All these actions have led to a transformation at Cisco that proves their technology combined with great leadership can help any company to proper post-COVID.
