Elizabeth Knox is one of New Zealand’s best-known authors, with bestsellers including The Vintner’s Luck, the Dreamhunter novels and The Absolute Book. She's famous for creating extraordinarily detailed alternate worlds, but she’s also an astute observer of this world – especially the conundrums and challenges of climate change.

She talks to Eloise Gibson about climate grief, climate hope, the complications of gardening in a changing climate – and why our politicians and policy-makers should take lessons in writing science fiction.
