    Terrors of Tinsel Town

    Join Lauren and Josh for a tour of the terrors of Tinsel Town! We’ll explore the hauntings of the Hollywood Sign, Del Monte Speakeasy, Roosevelt Hotel and more. Episode 2 Hollywood Shout out to CreepyLA Blog Hollywood Sign (Vanity Fair by Valerie Tejeda) - Peg Entwistle jumped to her death from the H in the Hollywood sign in 1932 after trying to have made it in Hollywood after having had success on broadway. There have been reports of a ghostly woman there ever since. Reports are of a blonde woman in 1930s clothing wandering around (or occasionally jumping from the sign itself), the scent of gardenias (said to be Entwistle’s favorite perfume). The Hollywood sign is located in Griffith Park, which has said to have been cursed to bring misfortune on anyone who uses the land for gain, as well as house several random ghosts and a humanoid creature Del Monte Speakeasy (Time Out LA by  Ramona Saviss and Michael Juliano) - former speakeasy with underground tunnels that now function as utility corridors. this one is unique bc it is haunted by its former owner, Frank Bennet, who haunts his favorite former booth across from the bar. Reported by Ghost Hunters of Urban Los Angeles (GHOULA). Founder Richard Carradine Roosevelt Hotel (Curbed Los Angeles by Bianca Barragan) - Site of the first Academy Awards. Reports of seeing Marilyn Monroe’s reflection in mirrors and she haunts her old room (1200). Marilyn gets around town and has also been seen at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Beverly, Hilton and Knickerbocker Hotel. Montgomery Clift, who lived there while filming from Here to Eternity, and Carole Lombard have also been spotted at the Roosevelt. Chateau Marmont (Curbed Los Angeles by Bianca Barragan) - where John Belushi overdosed. A family stayed there in 1999 and their toddler would laugh all the time when he was alone and when asked why he laughing, the toddler said it was because of the funny man. While looking through a book of celebrity guests the toddler saw John Belushi and pointed him out as the funny man he had seen. Glam and Gore has a good video where the hotel is explored.
