Branding is all about differentiation, memorability and consistency

In this episode, I talk to Shane Rielly. Shane is a designer, a branding expert, and regularly speaks at WordPress events. He’s the founder and co-owner of Lonely Viking, a digital agency based in South Africa with the best agency logo around. Shane talks about the importance of branding and why you need to stop using boring corporate language in your brand just to try to fit in. You’ll hear how having a business partner helps with staying focused and helps to get things done when you have ADHD. We discuss why it’s ok to sometimes over-deliver with client work but that we also sometimes need to reign ourselves in and not do extra work for free when we’re hyperfocused on doing something that we love and want to carry on improving or adding to. Shane is also a father, a husband, and a surfer. We chat briefly about the pros and cons of working from a home office when you have children at home and if you listen carefully (I probably should have edited it out) you’ll hear my two young daughters crying because they wanted to come and say hi. Don’t panic, I didn’t lock them away on their own, they’re with their Mummy! If you enjoy this episode please do leave a review, it really does help. And don’t forget to join our small Facebook community of ADHD business owners at addtrepreneur.com/group. If you’re an entrepreneur with ADHD and want to share your story, your success or your struggles then please get in touch, I’d love to interview you on the podcast. 009 I have ADHD too and I lost focus - a brief update

This is a short episode just to talk about what's happened over the last few months. I started this podcast for people with ADHD, specifically entrepreneurs with ADHD and aspiring entrepreneurs with ADHD looking for help, support, and motivation. But, like most people with ADHD, sometimes I don't follow through with things or I’ll put things off for a while and then going back to it seems more and more overwhelming. That happened, I tried hard to do this and keep on top of it but there’s been a few setbacks. I had some cool people lined up who actually had a business and they have ADHD too, but pinning them down was an absolute nightmare. I should’ve expected that, I guess it just comes with the territory. So, having guests not show up or get the days mixed up multiple times was hard work. I’ve also been struggling with depression myself and haven’t been in the right place to sit and talk to people. I’m working on that every day and I’ve made changes in my life like moving to a bigger house for our family and quitting my job to run my own business full-time. I interviewed a branding expert and web designer, Shane Riley, this week. Shane runs a web agency called Lonely Viking. I've got the second part of an interview with Dr. Dawn Brown, America's favourite ADHD expert. Listen out for part 2 of Dr Dawn’s interview along with a competition to win a copy of Dr Dawn’s first book. If you'd like to tell your story or share your struggles, or if you know someone that you think would be a really good guest on the podcast, drop me a message, drop me an email and I'll reach out to that person or you and we can get something booked and get an interview done. And if there's something you'd like to see or hear more of or something you'd like to talk about, you can let me know in the comments or through the website, ADDtrepreneur.com, or find me on social media. Let me know what you want to hear and I’ll do my best to find the right person to chat with so that we can make more episodes and help more people with ADHD. If you enjoy this episode please do leave a review, it really does help. And don’t forget to join our small Facebook community of ADHD business owners at addtrepreneur.com/group. 006 How to build a business doing what you love

Today I’m talking to Lee Jackson. Lee is a fellow web developer, speaker, entrepreneur, and the host of one of only a handful of podcasts I listen to regularly and definitely one of the best WordPress podcasts around, the Agency Trailblazer podcast. He’s also organising Agency Transformation Live, a UK conference for web agency owners focusing on helping you to transform your agency. Lee gives insight into how he’s used his Agency Trailblazer podcast to grow his business, build his network, and reach new clients across the globe. We talk about how you can grow your business by being it clear about who it is you serve and the problems you solve for them rather than trying to target ‘everyone’. Lee tells us the three secret weapons he uses to get so much done, the process he uses for hiring the right staff and how you can start creating valuable content right now and never be stuck staring at a blank screen again. Plus so much more! 005 Stop doing boring surveys and make surveys great again

In episode 5 I chat to Baptiste Debever. Baptiste is the co-founder of the saas feedback tool Feedier and in the interview he talks about building a saas product, why you should stop doing boring surveys, hiring a remote team, and more. We also talk about how his team launched an AppSumo deal in 2018 and reached thousands of new customers, and the problems that brought for as they worked on building their product. Baptiste has kindly offered to share a some customer feedback templates for you to use in your own business so head over to the ADDtrepreneur blog to download yours for free. They’ll appear on the blog in the next couple of days. If you want to see Baptiste’s product live in action on a website, again take a look at ADDtrepreneur.com and click on the feedback button, it should be in the bottom left corner of your screen. I signed up for the freemium version of Feedier whilst doing some research on Baptiste ahead of the show and I have to say I’m impressed. They’ve nailed the interface, it looks great. It’s super easy to use too and they’ve got some templates so you can get started straight away. The onboarding emails are useful too. Take a look, grab yourself a free account and let me know what you think. Head over to Feedier.com and get started in just a few minutes. It really is a great product and I look forward to watching it grow and develop even more. Don’t forget to join our free Facebook Community. If you have any questions about Feedier you can shoot an email over to Baptiste on baptiste(at)feedier.com or find him on social media, he’s pretty active everywhere.
