What is Caltech? There are lots of great universities. There are also a few schools that specialize in math, science, and engineering. Some of them even give a few lucky undergrads some exposure to real research. And there’s no shortage of selective universities whose rigorous curriculum has won them international reputations for excellence. But the list of major research institutions that offer undergraduates a first-class scientific education, virtually unlimited research opportunities, and a culturally diverse community includes only one name: Caltech.
