For now, if you want to download this or any episode on mobile, do it on your PC, laptop, tablet or on the streaming services like Apple, Podbean, etc. The player on mobile devices interface is f****d up. The other issue is with my theme that doesn't affect anything you can see, but prevents me from updating the code on the backend. Regardless, I'm sick of this shit. This set has been in the can for five days but I've been dicking around with this crap on top of everything else going on in my life. In fact, our latest edition of Chill Out Sessions takes a nostalgic step back to our Mixtape Sessions. These sets were laidback affairs but leaned towards a more commercial realm of music from that era. With the recent explosion of the Afro House genre, many of these tracks find a better-suited home in this series. DJs seem to have only recently discovered percussion as if it were something new, yet it has been a staple in dance remixes since the 90s, lending these songs a warmer vibe. Back then we called it Progressive House, which will undoubtedly resurface as the genre du jour of the moment any time now /s While some of these tracks indeed fall into the Afro House category, most do not. However, this doesn't diminish their quality, beauty or resilience. On the contrary, they are exceptional, and we're all about top-notch dance music here at Party Favorz. Nevertheless, many of these tunes are so laid-back that they might not fit the dance floor vibe but rather serve as background music while you unwind during your drive home from work or need some zen time. Designed as a tranquil counterpoint to life's chaos, this set came together through a meticulous year-long curation process. While the initial plan was to release multiple sets throughout the year, the immense effort required for our other expansive collections meant that a second installment kept getting delayed. But good things come to those who wait. Throughout the year, I've been carefully siphoning off tracks, amassing a treasure trove of Melodic House, Progressive House, Microhouse, Deep House, and Lounge gems. As the year drew to a close, it was finally time to sift through the selections, adding a few last-minute discoveries to craft a set that clocks in at over five hours of pure, unadulterated bliss. I understand that the sheer length of "As One" could easily warrant splitting it into two separate sets. However, creating additional cover art for a second volume would consume precious time that's already earmarked for a slew of upcoming projects. Our roadmap between now and year's end is jam-packed, and we're committed to maintaining a smooth workflow to deliver quality music sets across various genres.

There are some points where you might think the roof is on fire but everything quickly simmers down to a low boil. I began compiling tracks for the next Disco House and Peak Hour series and had a lot of great songs that didn't quite fit into these categories. It was something I had been anticipating since Beatport expanded their genre categories to include Funky House, Jackin House (already a Traxsource staple), Melodic House & Techno, Organic House / Downtempo, and Garage. For the most part, the way they divide up the genres is meaningless. While some songs have a truly identifiable rhythm, most do not. When you add in Breaks / Breakbeat, Electronica, House, Indie Dance, and Minimal and Deep Tech genres, there's not enough differentiating most songs. Some elements are identifiable allowing for categorization but most fall into a grey area. The biggest benefit to adding in all these different genres is that it allows DJs to sample more sounds while finding great music that in the past may have gone unnoticed. For that reason, I applaud Beatport (and to a greater extent JunoDownload) for providing better options for discovering new music. What I am sure about is that many of these songs spread across different genres are simply excell...

    Summer Farewell 2021 | The Chill Edition

    As we near the end of the 2021 summer season, Party Favorz is cooling things down with our latest Chill Out session, Summer Farewell. This set features a wide variety of laidback styles including Deep House, Electronica, Lounge, NuJazz, Minimal, and Progressive House to help you slow down and prepare for Fall. Granted, the summer weather seems to be lasting longer and longer these days. In Georgia, we used to get a taste of Fall in late August but for the last several years, the cooling weather doesn't show up until late September or October before jumping right into winter weather. Fall has always been my favorite time of the year but it just keeps getting shorter and shorter. Take note that I finally used the massive summer sleeper hit "Love Tonight" by Shouse. If you wonder why there are so many different versions of this track out there using the same refrain, it's because of this song — included here — in its original darker Indie groove form with the full vocals. The song itself has taken on a life of its own and will end up being in the Top 10 of the year's best Dance Club songs (likely the Robin Schulz version). We have two tracks from newcomer Rosko who just happens to be my nephew. Other than he used to DJ parties in college, I'm not sure where this came from because his gig is a graphic design and advertising. I'm excited for him and look forward to hearing more about his work in the future. I might suggest he ad the album to Beatport, Traxsource, JunoDownload, and Amazon Music as well and select tracks on Kings of Spin for greater exposure.
