“Legends of Arthroplasty” with Past President Dr. Thomas Vail

In this episode of the Augment, hosts Dr. Bernstein and Dr. Gold are joined by AAHKS Past President Dr. Vail to discuss how an engineering background led him to arthroplasty and arthritis research, what the future may hold for better treating and understanding osteoarthritis and osteonecrosis, the evolution of arthroplasty treatment through his career, changing institutions for the right reasons, and ways to build a thriving orthopaedic department within a larger institution.
