    "Must Preserve", That's What Love Means - Season 4 Tier Ranking

    Silvana and Tegan discuss the tier ranking for Season 4 of "Stargate SG-1." There are some obvious episodes, like "Window of Opportunity" or "Point of No Return".  Sorry, we were too late with our "Jane the Virgin" warning; you'll just have to find it somewhere else.  Episodes with Jack/Sam romance immediately lose ranking. Silvana and Tegan take Sophia's opinions into consideration when deciding where to put "Entity".  Surprisingly, "The First Ones" was a bigger hit than anticipated.     Justice for Hebron! (Exodus)

    Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4, Episode 22 "Exodus" and discuss how Stargate SG-1 is veering into a more pure sci-fi style, and Silvana is not a fan of it.  Another thing the hosts are not a fan of - the Tok'ra. The Tok'ra train has derailed into an alternate dimension at this point. The Tok'ra know Tanith (using Hebron as a host) is a spy but the whole spy business it just handled in the most ridiculous and frankly awful way. The Tok'ra used the host Hebron in a very goa'uld way by just using him for their own ends.  This is the episode where Samantha Carter blows up a sun, and what a waste to do that in this episode.     Revenge of the Comtrayans (Double Jeopardy)

    Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4, Episode 21 "Double Jeopardy" and answer the question what does this have to do with the game show "Jeopardy"? This episode is Michael Shanks's directorial debut and features the actor who plays Lurch in the Addams Family.  Harlan is back!     Silvana and Tegan are joined by their good friend and fellow podcaster, Sophia from Where's Beverly, for Season 4, Episode 20, "Entity". This is Sophia's favorite episode! She "must preserve!" Silvana dares Tegan to write the next fan fiction. Sophia explains why this is the best episode of Stargate. Sophia and Tegan discuss the medical inaccuracies in this episode, despite their onsite medical advisor. What would Stargate have looked like had Samantha Carter's body died and brought her back in a different body or used the robot Carter? Where have we seen that before...     There Can Only Be One Bill (Prodigy)

    Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4, Episode 19, "Prodigy".  Cadet Hailey is introduced and we are told rather than shown that she is an insubordinate know-it-all and the powers that be want to throw her out of the academy. However, Sam wants to use her brain for good at the SGC so she brings her along to a mission to show her what she can use her intelligence for. SG-1 minus Daniel Jackson visit a moon (it's NOT a planet!) to supervise a team of scientists are studying....something? It's not really clear but they do encounter electricity bugs which the scientists immediately put into captivity which is always a good idea, right? Dr. Bill Lee is introduced in this episode and this is one scientist Silvana and Tegan actually like. Unfortunately for the other scientist named Bill in this episode, there can only be one one Bill.  It's just the rules.  Cadet Hailey and Major Carter have opposing opinions about what's happening with the electricity bugs. And Jack has to make the call and Cadet Hailey is adamant that she needs to know who was right, even at the very end of the episode.   David Marquet's "Greatness" Video mentioned in this episode.     A Snack of an Episode (The Light)

    TW: Suicide/self-harm Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4, Episode 18, "The Light". Once again, there is a strong need for a therapist on base, but there is not one! There's not even a trigger warning for this episode... SG-1 is challenged by a planet that has a narcotic effect on anyone that visits it. They meet a teenager named Loren and rescue him from this planet - to never be seen again. Silvana asks the most important question of this episode: Where are they defecating? is Teal'c an honorary Jehovah's Witness? Was there a Little Finger gao'uld equivalent?     The Tok'ra Never Learned Interior Design ("Absolute Power")

    Silvana and Tegan are joined by guest star, Eric, for Season 4, Episode 17 "Absolute Power". In this episode, the Harsesis Child arrives at the SG-C to make Daniel fall asleep and dream of an alternative reality. The three discuss the child actor chosen for the Harcesis Child. Tegan finds it weird that this is back to back with "2010", since neither results in much change in the overall storyline. Will absolute power corrupt Daniel Jackson? Absolutely.
