Hello guys. Great pod. Been a quiet listener for the last two years and I really hope this show continue for a long time. Anyway, I have a question for D.E. I rewatch Nocturnal Animals because I thought I was missing something since everybody seems to love it and Im more like in the meeeeh side. I saw your low rate in Letterboxd so I would like if u can elaborate in what you didnt like about that “masterpiece” as everyone says it is. Thank you!
It's great.

Hello, I've been listening to the podcast for a few years now, but hadn't left a review because I hate to do things people tell me to do, but now we're all stuck inside so here we are. I hate to play favorites, but if I have to: Katey. The guys are cool too. Anyway, just wanted to thank you guys for the #content, you were a big part of me getting back into movies after a few years of not watching many of them because I was too busy reading books for school (getting two degrees seems like such a dumb decision now that the world is on fire, but at least I'm not in debt, yay for public universities!), but your love for film is contagious and I love to hear you guys talk about it, even when you yell and talk over each other (Ehrlich). This review is too long and meandering, the podcast is good. Goodbye and good luck from sunny (and quarantined) Mexico.

Hi! It’s been almost a year since I wrote my first review, so I thought I’d check in again with my favorite movie podcast. First of all, I would like to let you know that I’m fine. Turns out Mexico is a pretty big country, and an earthquake in Mexico City is not felt hundreds of miles away in Tijuana, which is where I live (my friends and relatives who got to experience the earthquake are fortunately fine). Speaking of Mexico, this last year has been particularly exciting for our cinema. I know you all on the festival circuit are going crazy for ROMA, but I feel there’s plenty of other movies that deserve your attention. Take for example THE ETERNAL FEMININE, a remarkable biopic of poet Rosario Castellanos that doubles as a brilliant exploration of power dynamics in a marriage. Or Sundance winner TIME SHARE, a preciously photographed takedown of the idea that brands are people. Or ANA & BRUNO, an animated movie about how we deal with trauma and madness and which has earned the praises of by people like Guillermo del Toro (David, I’m sorry if this isn’t much of an incentive for you). Or THE GOOD GIRLS, which I admittedly haven’t seen but is based on a book that pointedly deconstructs the lives of rich suburban wives at the time of one Mexico’s worst economic crises. I don’t know when either of them is opening in the United States, if at all, but would make me so happy if you got to see it and discuss it on the show in the intelligent, funny and good natured way you excel at. Sigan así de chingones!
