You have left, I think, an important historical document about an influential US politician. By making an even-handed podcast, you goaded Gingrich's inflated ego into asking for a post-mortem interview; thus, you successfully goaded him into revealing the rationalizations he uses to shore up his own image of himself. Like all "conservatives," Gingrich clearly can't understand that change is inexorable; I like using the example of plate tectonics: the continent or island you're standing on today isn't exactly where it was yesterday; likewise, the sunlight you're enjoying right now left the sun a short while ago and, while some of it fell on you, a lot more of it missed the Earth completely and is now headed into an ever-expanding universe. Gingrich seems to like the thought that he caused change; he doesn't seem to understand that he was/is simply part of it. Thank you for some xlnt journalism.
