Michael Jackson

Well, we hit a bit of a milestone with this show. Not only has this been our most requested show subject, but we’re also celebrating our 5-year anniversary! Thank you to all of you that listen and give us your support, it means the world to us! Now, on to business… We’ve talked about royalty on our show, we’ve talked about people being the “greatest of all time” at their particular craft, but it’s hard to deny that Michael Jackson earned his title as the “King of Pop”. MJ dominated the airwaves from the time he was a kid in the Jackson 5, to creating some of the most recognizable hits in his solo career. While his music and dancing inspired generations to come, there was a lot, and I mean a lot, of off-stage behavior that had people asking a lot of questions. And some of those people were the police. Did MJ get a fair shake in all this, after seemingly being guilty in the court of public opinion? How did his childhood play into his odd behavior? Terrence Howard

A lot of our show subjects have many, often well publicized incidents that make it no surprise that they find themselves in our courtroom. There are also a lot of shows that we’re sure listeners see the subject and think, who? Well, most of you have seen Terrence Howard on television and the movies, but today we’ll dive into one of the more, we’ll just say, interesting, people we’ve talked about on our show. When a celebrity dives into other areas outside of their expertise, we’ve seen some crazy things happen. But Terrence’s ideas of how basic math and physics work, now has a lot of people shaking their head. Does his thinking prevent him from getting roles? Is there more than just some crazy ideas that shone a negative light on the Hustle and Flow star? Does 1x1, really equal 1? Tiger Woods lit the golf world on fire in the mid 90’s and his meteoric rise to the top of golf was something the sport hadn’t seen before. He brought a completely new audience to the game and kickstarted a renaissance that golf is still reaping the benefits of today. He maintained a squeaky-clean public image, until that all came crashing down in one of the most publicized, extra-marital affairs of all time. David Duke

If you don’t recognize the name, don’t let that deter you from listening to this episode. If you do recognize the name, you’ll definitely understand why he’s in the courtroom today. David Duke was an influencer before the internet, and the brand that he was promoting and platform he was trying to gain followers on, is not what the world needed (or needs). Duke tried his best to bring the KKK from the backwoods to the boardroom, then took his act to the political stage. How he made it as far as he did baffled us, but we’ll let you be the judge. The world we live in now is much different than the one we all knew 30 years ago, all thanks to the internet. The number of ways to make a living online these days is astounding, but the subject of this show made his mark long ago and seems determined to dominate YouTube. Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson started out a young age, but quicky figured out the right way to captivate audiences and use the YouTube algorithms to his benefit.
