In this episode of Give Me A Chance!,  Lynne tells how she got the chance to change her life and started thriving again by running away from a dangerous family situation. Lynne's marriage to her first husband started to crumble down in the late '70s as he suffered from the mental health scars of fighting in the Vietnam War. The only way to escape from this situation was to grab her children, flee to California and find a way to begin a new life away from him. Many years on, Lynne is a proud grandma and she has recently published a cookbook for diabetics, Brownies for Breakfast.

Throughout her youth and her twenties, Vanessa had struggled to fit in and had not managed to have a solid, fulfilling relationship. But it was when she came to question her sexuality that she realised that she was attracted to women instead. In this episode of Give Me A Chance!,  Waheed tells his story and how being hit hard by the 2008 recession turned into an opportunity to change his life. As the successful career he had built for himself collapsed with the financial crisis more than ten years ago, Waheed fell into a self-distructive path and fled from the US to his home country, Pakistan. But it was only when Waheed decided to face the situation and to take responsibility for it that his life got a new meaning. In this episode of Give Me A Chance!,  Sylvester shares his story and how becoming aware of how resilient he is as a person gave him a chance to change his life.  After returning from a military mission, Sylvester was faced with a divorce that led him to hit rock bottom.  As he found the strength to hold on and take life one step at a time, Sylvester realised how resilient human beings can be, and how much developing a growth mindset can turn one's life around.
