History of Persia

Since the Bronze Age up to the Muslim conquest of Persia (633-656 AD) mighty empires existed in and around what is generally known as Persia. Much of what we know about them comes from Greek and Roman sources and is invariably very biased from their point of view. If you've read Herodotus or some other popular history book, and are interested in what 'really' went down in Persia when looking at ALL the source material, Trevor Cully is your man. This is both good and bad considering what you are looking for. If you want a quick and popular summary of ancient history, this is not your podcast, but certainly one you might want to listen to after you've heard the 'simple' version. If you however want an in-depth journey into the 'real' history of Persia, this podcast is gold. Falling into the second category, I am enjoying this immensely and also back Trevor on Patreon, which gives you access to fascinating bonus episodes, which I heartily recommend you do too if you find you enjoy this podcast as well.

I'm not one for reviews, but it seems I am the first and this show is definitely worth the time. The host is clearly knowledgeable and the subjects are all well researched and the delivery is engaging and entertaining. You certainly won't regret giving this podcast a go, I know I didn't!
