Nina introduces Alberta Lung as an organization and what they do to support Albertans living with lung disease, factors like radon and air quality that may lead to a lung cancer diagnosis, challenges like isolation, youth vaping and e-cigarettes, and how lung cancer screening is shaping up across the province.     Research in Canada: Pfizer Grant Winner Dr. Rosalyn Juergens

    In this episode, Dr. Paul Wheatley-Price sits down with Dr Rosalyn Juergens, Medical Oncologist at the Juravinski Cancer Center in Hamilton, ON and Chair of LCC's Medical Advisory Committee.

    Dr. Juergens is one of the winners of the Quality Improvement Grant aimed at elevating the care and outcomes of Canadians living with metastatic NSCLC. She chats about her ambitious research proposal focusing on opportunities for liquid vs. solid tissue biopsies in community hospitals in Central-West Ontario, and the inequities and barriers that patients in rural communities face in healthcare and in turn leading to delayed diagnosis.

    The grant is offered in collaboration between Lung Cancer Canada, the Lung Health Foundation, the Quebec Lung Association, and Pfizer Canada, with up to $200,000 to be awarded.
