MCH Photo - Sports and Advertising Photography Marian Chytka

In this episode I will have the honor to talk to Darren Heath. I guess he does not need any long introduction. Darren is a multi award winning photographer, shooting F1. In 2005 The Royal Photographic Society awarded Darren their prestigious Honorary Fellowship as recognition of his excellence and evidence of distinguished ability in his chosen field. If you read the caption on his instagram profile, it just sums it up all: "32nd yr shooting F1 in a creative, artistic, original & unique style that’s changed the photographic perception of the sport". That's exactly what it is going to be all about. All about F1, all about the ability to shoot in a different artistic way even though he has been in all the tracks multiple times, about how the photography has changed over the years he has been in the business, about he business side of the photography and many other topics. I believe we could talk for hours and it would still not be enough. Enjoy!

S Honzou Kaslem si jako obvykle budeme povídat o všem možném a především pak o sportovní fotce 📸😉 O Honzových začátcích ve fotce, kdy se jako spousta předchozích hostů přesunul z pozice aktivního sportovce do role fotografa sportu. U něj však nešlo o zranění, které by ho donutilo postavit se za foťák, ale podle jeho slov spíše o nedostatek talentu. Od té doby uplynulo spoustu času a zdá se, že stoupnout si za foťák nebyl tak špatný nápad 😉 Budeme se bavit o tom, jak procestoval téměř celý svět, jak falšoval omluvenky, jak jej okradli, jak se fotí pod vodou, za polárním kruhem a na jiných extrémních místech, o spolupráci s Redbullem a o spoustě dalších věcí! In this episode I will be talking to Lorenz Holder, Germany based sports photogapher. When it comes to creativity in the sports photography I guess it just cant get any better than this 📸 Even though I know his photos, when I saw the selection he sent me to use in this post, I was really impressed 🙌🏼 If you check all the category and overall winners of the Redbull Illume since 2013, you will find his name being mentioned 9 times. 2xcategory and overall win in 2013, 2xcategory, overall win and athlete choice in 2016 and 2x category win in 2019.
You probably all know the Riding Throne project where he followed the locations from the Game of Thrones and the result was just 😲👌🏼
There are many things that we will go through from his beginnings in photography, about his approach to sports photography - "In my photos I like to show the viewers a different angle, something they normally wouldn’t notice, even if they were there at the scene", about the creative process, the business side of his photography, obviously about Redbull Illume and much more. V této, v pořadí už deváté (páté české), epizodě, si budu budu podívat se sportovní fotografkou Bárou Reichovou. Fotografkou, která od mala snila o tom, že bude fotit sport a to se ji nakonec splnilo. Dvanáct let byla součástí Deníku Sport (+3 další roky s Deníkem spolupracovala), účastnila se 4 olympijských her, fotila několik zápasů NHL, NBA, Mistrovství Evropy ve fotbale, MS v hokeji, biatlonu, atd, atd a samozřejmě stovky každodenních sportovních akcí. Získala ocenění v rámci Czech Press Photo či Sportovní Fotografie roku. Na začátku dubna letošního roku Deník Sport opustila a stala se fortografkou Českého olympijského týmu. Na své páte hry si však bude muset minimálně rok počkat. Přeji příjemný poslech.

In this is episode I am gonna be talking to Larry Chen. I guess there is no introduction needed as anyone who is a bit into automotive industry knows Larry’s photos. I always try to say few sentences about what the photographer, who I am gonna do the interview with, does, but in here it is just impossible to explain it in only few words. I guess I would end up with an extremely long list and would forget to mention several things anyway. If there was anything to mention it would probably be: Formula Drift Series, Hoonigans, Pikes Peak, Speedhunters and basically anything related to cars in US and all over the world. I am gonna be talking with Larry about how he started with photography, which is quite interesting as well as he was a Paparazzi photographer at first, what it took to get to the point where is right now - he said it took him about 5 years to get to the point where he actually started to make some money out of cars photography. We will talk through his workflow at different events, how he manages to work with several remote cameras, how he keeps himself fresh in terms of ideas and last but not least about the business and marketing side of photography. V dnešním rozhovoru si budu povídat s jedním z nejpovolanějších fotografů v ČR - s Martinem Kozákem. Martin je vítěz několika fotografických cen, autor knihy Velká sportovní fotografie, fotograf, který má za sebou focení na stovkách akci a přesto se focením neživí. Vzhledem k tomu, že se nejedná o jeho business, má ve focení volnost a dle mého i potřebný nadhled, aby dokázal zhodnotit sportovní fotku jako řemeslo. Budeme si povídat o rozdílu mezi focením “pro sebe” a focením na zakázku. O tom, proč se nikdy nezačal živit jen focením, kde brát inspiraci a nezabřednout do stereotypu, jaké je jeho workflow při sportovních eventech, jak má správně vypadat fotoreport a spoustě dalších věcí.
