S5 E11: The Surprise Season Finale (…and the One Where Colleen Accidently Gets her Dog's Vaccine)

Just when you thought the season was over, Allard and Colleen are back for one final episode! Allard shares his culture shock after attending a North American dinner party in Amsterdam, where giant portions, endless leftovers and doggy bags are the norm. Together they explore why Dutch people cook with mathematical precision, making just enough for everyone and wasting almost nothing. The conversation also takes a detour through Dutch inflation, Dutch restaurants abroad, line dancing (again!), the Dutch approach towards working from home, and why the Dutch insist on eating bitterballen in Spain instead of local cuisine. To wrap up the season, Colleen shares the unbelievable story of accidentally receiving her dog's vaccination at the vet—and how the remarkably relaxed Dutch response to the mishap was very different from what she would have expected in Canada. Bonus: This episode was recorded in one take, with no edits, so you're hearing the conversation exactly as it happened.
