In his time Babe Ruth was also a merchandiser par excellence who pitched and sold everything – hats, caps, sweaters, even automobiles. Together with his agent Christy Walsh he set the mold for marketing and for celebrity itself, but then he possessed qualities that made it all possible. Members from the Ruth family such as his grandson Tom and daughter Julia reveal personal insights into how this  came about, and people who are now deeply involved in the business side of Babe Ruth and the cultural phenomenon he became share their keen analysis.
